Abdulkadirusma1: Go do it for us girls. It's Eagles all the way. Assisat should drop deep to carry the ball forward.

That was South Korea's first shot on target at this year's World Cup...

    Nigeria 0-0 South Korea

This is nice! Much better from South Korea. Ji So-yun injects a bit of urgency and finds Lee Geum-min in the box with a neat through ball.

Lee spins back quickly, throwing the defender off balance, and tries to curl it into the far corner. The angle is not quite there and it's a reasonably routine save for the young keeper.

    Nigeria 0-0 South Korea

Apart from that chance for Desire Oparanozie a few moments ago, this game hasn't quite lived up to the hope of lots of goals.

Just two other shots - both off target - and a corner from South Korea. Both teams look cagey. There's so much at stake. Neither wants to make a mistake.

The best kits are England away and France away by a county mile, and you know it.

    Nigeria 0-0 South Korea

Lee Mi-na, who missed a glorious chance to score against France, has seen lots of the ball early-on down that right side.

The central midfielder swings another cross in but this time skews it wide of the net.

    Nigeria 0-0 South Korea

What a chance this is! Desire Oparanozie doesn't know much about it until the last minute. A dangerous cross from the left almost falls on the striker's head after the defender misses it.

She doesn't have much time to adjust but manages to direct the ball towards the bottom left corner. Keeper Kim Min-Jung does exceptionally well to react and dives low, palming it away before gobbling up the rebound.

By the way, this Nigerian kit is insanely good. Definitely one of my favourites. South Africa and Jamaica right up there too.

    Nigeria 0-0 South Korea

Nigeria look a little sloppy at the back. A bright attack breaks down on the right but the ball falls to Jang Sel-Gi, 30 yards out in the centre.

She tries an audacious long-range strike, but it fizzes harmlessly out for a goalkick.

    Nigeria 0-0 South Korea

It's a big day for 18-year-old Nigerian keeper Chiamaka Nnadozie. Her first touch is a short pass to right-back Chidinaza Okeke, who is immediately put under pressure by Ji So-yun.

The Chelsea striker wins the ball but there's nobody in attack so support and Nigeria quickly win it back.

    Nigeria 0-0 South Korea

Nigerian captain, Desire Oparanozie, wins the ball superbly, high up the pitch. Asisat Oshoala wants it played into her path but the ball has too much pace on it when it's eventually released by Oparanozie and the chance goes begging.

Good, early pressure from the African champions.

Right, off we go! What will the group table look like in just under two hours time? I'm hoping for goals.

Nigeria have failed to score a first-half goal in their last 14 World Cup matches. They are prone to slow starts, basically.

This is the first time South Korea have faced an African nation. They took 70 minutes to have an attempt on goal against France. If they want a better result today, they need to pile the pressure on early.

The Stade des Alps is my favourite stadium in this World Cup. The name speaks for itself. You can literally see the mountains of the Alps in the background of the far corner of the ground.

    It's such a beautiful setting!

Nigeria v South Korea (14:00 BST)

Nigeria make two changes to the side that started the 3-0 defeat to Norway in Reims on Saturday.

Eighteen year-old goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie comes in for 32-year-old Tochukwu Oluehi while Chinaza Uchendu comes into midfield and defender Chidinma Okeke starts.

Nigeria XI: Nnadozie, Ohale, Ebere, Ebi, Oshoala, Oparanozie, Chikwelu, Uchendu, Okobi, Ordega, Okeke.

South Korea are expected to line up in a more attacking 4-1-4-1 formation as they look to bounce back from the 4-0 drubbing against host France in the opening game of the tournament.

Creative duo Ji So-yun and Lee Mi-na are at the core of the midfield.

    South Korea XI: M J Kim, Hwang, D Y Kim, M A Lee, Cho, Ji, Jung, Jang, G M Lee, H R Kim, Kang.

  17. Star player - Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria)published at 13:51 British Summer Time 12 June 2019

Nigeria v South Korea (14:00 BST)

Striker Asisat Oshoala, who is still only 24, is a three-time African footballer of the year.

The former Liverpool and Arsenal star, has been on-loan at Barcelona from Chinese side Dalian Quanjian.

She won the Golden Ball and Golden Boot at the under-20 World Cup in 2014 and this is her second senior finals.

Oshoala, also known as 'Superzee' to her teammates, has scored 14 goals in 17 major tournament appearances, but only one of those came in the World Cup, back in 2015.

It doesn't look like there will be any rain or thunder delays in Grenoble. The players have just finished their warm-ups in the glorious sun and are getting ready to walk back out for the national anthems.

  19. Star player - Ji So-yun (South Korea)published at 13:48 British Summer Time 12 June 2019

Nigeria v South Korea (14:00 BST)

Chelsea's number 10 Ji So-yun is South Korea's all-time top scorer with 54 goals and has over 100 caps.

She had a quiet game against France, struggling to get into the game and make an influence. But if she can get involved, she is always a threat.

Ji, who has won Chelsea's Player of the Year and PFA Player of the Year awards during her time in WSL, became the country's youngest goalscorer at 15 years, 282 days in 2006.

    Her nickname is So-yun Messi.

  20. All or nothing for South Koreapublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 12 June 2019

Nigeria v South Korea (14:00 BST)

South Korea are the higher ranked team in action, 14th in the world. But they are less experienced at the World Cup, having only qualified twice before.

They reached the knock-out stages in 2015 though, an achievement which would be even more impressive should they manage to do so in France.

The South Koreans have already suffered at the hands of their other group opponents - losing to France on three occasions and also losing 7-1 to Norway in 2003.

But this squad is a group of players who are starting to peak. Eight of the players finished third at the under-20 World Cup in 2010.

Like Nigeria, they will really fancy their chances today and will certainly be going all out for a win in Grenoble.
