Australia need a reaction now. If the pressure wasn't on before, it is now! I wonder what their Plan B will be, they need to go for it big time.

A reminder that Australia lost their opening group game and cannot afford another defeat.

They started well but since going behind they have lost their rhythm.

Tom Whyte: Not a penalty again.

Jamie Bowers: Two big decisions both VAR and the actual ref have got wrong. Shocking performance.

    Marta

    Legend!

And that's World Cup goal No 16 for Marta.

It's a text book pen. Brazil have the lead and Australia are in a whole heap of trouble.

  6. PENALTY TO BRAZILpublished at 25 mins

    Australia 0-0 Brazil

Having escaped at the other end, Brazil win a penalty when Elise Kellond-Knight drags down Leticia Santos.

There's not an awful lot of contact but replays clearly show the Australian is clutching her opponents shirt.

Another VAR check...and the penalty is awarded.

Big moment for Brazil and Marta.

I thought it was a penalty, and Brazil were the architects of it. The defender got caught the wrong side.

    VAR strikes again!

Australia want a penalty after Tameka Yallop hits the turf after a challenge by Thaisa.

It looks a penalty but the Swiss referee, after spending an age looking an the incident on a screen on the side of the pitch, awards Brazil a free-kick after replays showed Yallop handled the ball leading up to the incident.

It was a change of pace there by Brazil and a fantastic switch. It's the first time we've seen the full-backs that high up the pitch.

    Did Andressa Alves mean that?

A lovely move by Brazil sees the midfielder tee up a shot which almost falls for Debinha to poke home.

    Bad news for Brazil.

Formiga, their highly experienced 41-year-old midfielder, is guilty of a clumsy challenge on Tameka Yallop.

Out comes a yellow card and Formiga will now miss Brazil's next game with Italy next Tuesday.

Brazil came into the tournament off the back of nine consecutive defeats. They beat Jamaica quite emphatically but, ultimately, this is the real test.

Half a chance for Sam Kerr!

It's a header from almost the edge of the penalty area and it drifts well wide.

Brazil are getting nice and compact early on, trying to force the play wide and reduce the opportunities in between.

Australia have settled quickly. They've got their South American opponents penned inside their own half but have not been able to seriously test keeper Barbara.

Marta has had a few touches - unfortunately for Brazil fans they have been inside her own half instead of Australia's penalty area.

What really helps Sam Kerr is her work ethic, but also that she can score a variety of goals. For me, she's the all-round player and she's up there with the best in the world.

Tamires goes tearing down the right hand side but her low cross is easily gathered by Lydia Williams.

    Great pace by Tamires though.

There's a lot of hype back in Australia and I know they weren't happy with their performance against Italy, playing such a high defensive line, so the pressure is on.
