These two teams are no strangers.

This is the fourth successive Women's World Cup these nations have met.

Australia have dominated Brazil recently, winning the past four matches and scoring 14 goals in the process.

"That's obviously a slight advantage, maybe mentally, but you can't fall back on that," said defender Alanna Kennedy.

"We need to really focus on this game and what's going to be played in that 90 minutes."

It's a phenomenal stat, that Brazil haven't conceded a group stage goal since 2003. They would have played some top sides in those group games, but records are there to be broken. And if Australia are going to stay in this tournament, they need to break that today.

It looks like a lovely day in Montpellier - certainly an improvement on damp Salford Quays!

Brazil striker Cristiane became the oldest person to score a World Cup hat-trick as the 34-year-old's treble handed debutants Jamaica a 3-0 loss on Sunday.

The South American champions got their Group C campaign off to a flying start as Cristiane headed the first before tapping home a second.

And a fine free-kick gave the 34-year-old the first hat-trick at France 2019.

Australia captain Sam Kerr gave Australia the lead against Italy on Sunday - only for the Azzurri to fight back and win.

Kerr, who is the all-time record goalscorer in both the United States and Australia's top professional leagues, tucked in the rebound when her first-half penalty was saved, after she was brought down by Italy skipper Sara Gama.

It was her first goal at the World Cup finals in her ninth appearance over three tournaments, and she celebrated in a similar style to former Everton player Tim Cahill, the Australia men's team legend, as she playfully punched the corner flag.

What has she got planned if she scores against Brazil?

    Don't you just love Brazil.

Their players stepped off the team bus and headed for their dressing room singing and playing musical instruments.

Will they hit the right rhythm on the pitch?

Australia travelled south to sunny Montpellier under growing pressure, after their surprise and dramatic loss to Italy on Sunday.

The world's sixth-ranked side simply cannot afford to drop further points tonight, while the Brazilians are full of confidence, in surely the most interestingly-poised group of all.

Add to that the fact that we have two of the world's best players on the pitch in Sam Kerr and Brazil legend Marta and this one has the makings of an absolute cracker.

Australia are ranked six in the world yet are already playing catch-up after launching their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Italy.

Another defeat would be disastrous for a country that has reached the quarter-finals at the last three World Cups.

Brazil, however, sit top of Group C after a comfortable 3-0 win over Jamaica and the 2007 runners-up can take a huge step towards reaching the knockout stage with another win.

    Two stunning hat-tricks...

Three own goals...and a whole heap of VAR controversy.

What drama lies in store for Australia and Brazil in Montpellier?
