  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

The change Arsenal supporters have been waiting for - on comes Dutch striker Vivianne Miedema, with Janni Arnth making way.

Could she be the player to break the deadlock?

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

Now a big chance for Arsenal!

Janni Arnth arrives at the back post and is presented with a relatively straightforward finish from about six yards out, but can't quite adjust quickly enough and directs it miles wide.

The final is opening up, that's for sure.

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

The delivery from Manchester City's left flank has been first class in this second half.

This time Keira Walsh's cross very nearly picks out Nikita Parris, but goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal puts those recent shaky moments behind her to punch it clear.

Manchester City boss Nick Cushing turns to his bench for the first time today. Janine Beckie is on for Belgium international Tessa Wullaert.

Sari van Veenendaal's not had a particularly good couple of minutes.

Caroline Weir delivers another superb left-footed, outswinging cross which leaves the Arsenal goalkeeper flapping hopelessly, but nobody can latch on to it and it drifts behind.

    Great cross, poor keeping.

That's a terrific effort from Nikita Parris!

She was too quick for the keeper, got a good head on it, and everyone up here - high at the back of the stand - initially thought that was in.

Goodness me - and the set-piece nearly leads to a goal!

As the ball comes in Nikita Parris out-jumps goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal, who doesn't cover herself in a huge amount of glory and gets caught in no-man's land, but she can only direct her looping header onto the crossbar.

Massive let off for the Gunners, that.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 58 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

That's as clear a yellow card as you'll ever see.

Nikita Parris streams clear through the middle for City, but Arsenal's Dominique Bloodworth brings her down and goes into the book.

But the Manchester City threat is always there!

Having won the ball back, City break quickly and Georgia Stanway fires a shot in from distance, which Louise Quinn does well to head over her own bar.

The set-piece is cleared but it's a timely warning for Arsenal.

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

Arsenal have started this second half really, really well. They sense a goal is there for the taking.

    Again they're on the attack.

It's fascinating to watch the way Arsenal set up when Manchester City attempt to play their way out from the back.

This time, the team in blue give it away cheaply and the Gunners force a corner.

Nick Cushing's side get the set-piece clear but they're living dangerously.

There's not been too much to write home about at the start of the second period - although Arsenal are pressing really aggressively now.

Manchester City just had a goal-kick and the Gunners had four players lined up in a row blocking out the short option. I've never seen a team set up quite like that before, certainly.

Having beaten the press, City actually almost ended up with a two-on-one situation too, but Leah Williamson got across to clear.

You'd be surprised if many of these players were particularly nervous about playing in a final - after all, most of them have been able to get relatively used to them in recent seasons.

These are the only two clubs who have won this competition since it was founded in 2011 and it's the third time they've met in its final since 2014.

But that first half was more than a little bit nervy at times, which is a shame. Both teams have far, far more to offer.

The Gunners look short up front without the towering presence of their top scorer, Vivianne Miedema. We wait to see if she'll be fit enough to feature from the bench.

So here's where we stand in the Women's Super League title race.

Arsenal were completely running away with it before losing two of their past five matches - but they're still very much in the box seat with six games to play in the 11-team league.

With all eyes this weekend very much on the League Cup final, we were treated to a Wednesday night feast in the Women's Super League.

Table-topping Manchester City had to come from behind to beat lowly Everton, with Nikita Parris among the scorers in a 3-1 victory.

But second-placed Arsenal, who are two points behind but have two games in hand, are still the team who hold all the cards after a 3-0 win over Yeovil Town.

Elsewhere, Fran Kirby and Beth England both scored hat-tricks as Chelsea thrashed Bristol City 6-0, while there were also wins for West Ham and Brighton.

The early game in the Premier League today is at Turf Moor, where Burnley and Tottenham have also been unable to break the deadlock so far.

Spurs have a certain Harry Kane back up front after a month or so out injured.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45+4 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

The 2019 League Cup final is all square at the break.

Steph Houghton's downward header right at the end of the half aside, it's not been a classic.

  20. Postpublished at 45+3 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

We have a chance, all right - and nearly a goal!

Steph Houghton meets the corner at the far post and forces a good save from Sari van Veenendaal in the Arsenal goal, while Gemma Bonner can't quite tap home the rebound.

That is the nearest we've come to an opener and by some distance.
