    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

Manchester City's Georgia Stanway goes up for an early header but ends up clashing heads with Louise Quinn and will require a bit of treatment here.

The good news, however, is that she looks OK to continue.

All that said, Arsenal manager Joe Montemurro still seems to be in a relaxed mood before kick-off - he was busy playing with the TV cameras shortly after arriving at Bramall Lane...

It's worth pointing out, too, that with Arsenal so severely hit by injuries they've only been able to name five substitutes.

With one of those a goalkeeper and the other their fatigued star striker, it doesn't leave them with a huge amount of options off the bench...

  9. Miedema on bench for Arsenalpublished at 12:08 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

I'm told Arsenal's Dutch striker Vivianne Miedema has been suffering from a bit of fatigue and is therefore on the bench as a precaution.

There's a chance she might get on in the second half, looking to add to her staggering tally of 29 goals for the season so far for club and country.

Arsenal, who were already missing a string of key players through long-term injuries, including Jordan Nobbs and Switzerland utility player Lia Walti, have been dealt a pre-match blow, with Netherlands striker Vivianne Miedema only fit enough to make the bench.

In contrast, Man City boss Nick Cushing had a fully-fit squad to choose from, and - as expected - he recalls high-profile names including England forward Nikita Parris to the starting XI, after rotating for Wednesday's league win over Everton.

Arsenal: Van Veenendaal, Arnth, Quinn, Williams, Veje, Bloodworth, Little, Van de Donk, Evans, McCabe, Mead.

Subs: Peyraud-Magnin, Kuyken, Hazard, Albuquerque, Miedema.

Man City: Bardsley, Stokes, Beattie, Houghton, Bonner, Walsh, Scott, Weir, Wullaert, Stanway, Parris.

Subs: Roebuck, Bremer, Beckie, Hemp, Campbell, Emslie, McManus.

Manchester City could complete the first leg of a domestic treble today.

City have a two-point lead at the top of the Women's Super League, although second-placed Arsenal have two games in hand on Nick Cushing's side.

And while the Gunners lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round, City made it safely through to the last eight by beating Championship team Tottenham Hotspur.

Today's League Cup final brings together the two leading scorers in the Women's Super League.

Table-topping Manchester City have netted 45 goals in their 16 games, while Arsenal have scored 53 times in 14 outings.

More of the same today? Here's hoping...

In the seven previous editions of the Women's League Cup, there have only been two winners - Arsenal and Manchester City.

Therefore, it's probably no surprise to see those two back contesting the final of the 2018-19 competition.

Welcome to live text and radio coverage as the first silverware of the domestic women's season is decided at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane.
