    Quote Message

It's a brilliant chance - I think he should go goalkeeper's right, hook shot, but he doesn't, he goes straight at the goalkeeper. It's a good save but Jermain Defoe maybe should have done better

    Hamilton 0-0 Rangers

    Neil McCann
Former Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

It's moving like a 4-1-3-2 for Hamilton with George Oakley and David McMillan operating up top. They're getting really narrow - they're very condensed on the pitch when it's on either side so you'll see Rangers trying to do quick switches. He doesn't look frightened Brian Rice - he's set his team up to have a go

    Hamilton 0-0 Rangers

Hamilton boss Brian Rice has handed a full debut to 17-year old Reegan Mimnaugh.

"I’ve watched him closely in training and he’s everything I want this club to be about – composed on the ball, not afraid to make passes, not afraid to make mistakes, life, energy," Rice told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound.

"Most of all he’s in the team on merit. I watched him at Easter Road, he made a few mistakes, it didn’t phase him.

"A player I have high hopes for."

  13. Kamara's quick start surprised us - Gerrardpublished at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2019

    Hamilton v Rangers (12:15)

Glen Kamara's fast start as a Rangers player has surprised manager Steven Gerrard after little game time.

"He’d missed a lot of football before he came - we knew he was a top player but he’s surprised us with the condition and shape he’s in," Gerrard told BT Sport.

"That’s why he’s stayed in the team because he’s been strong in his last two performances."

Gerrard added that the 5-0 midweek win over Kilmarnock was pleasing to him because of the support provided to Alfredo Morelos - and the manager is looking for the same today even without the suspended striker.

"Alfredo got all the headlines because he got the goals but the pleasing thing for me was the support he got," added Gerrard. "The support and the service in the final third, a couple of his goals were just tap-ins because of the quality we got from the wide areas.

"We know we’ll have a lot of the ball today. The onus is on us when we get into the final third, can we build on that quality we got against Kilmarnock and provide the same?"
