He gets away with it when a free-kick is given Palace's way as he falls to the ground but Silva and Kevin de Bruyne are protesting.

He smashes a shot which almost catches the keeper out at the near post but Vicente Guaita manages to get his fingertips on it.

Nice spell of possession for Palace.

It's switched around the midfield before Luka Milivojevic's ball is lifted into the box towards Christian Benteke. It's nodded down brilliantly into the path of Cheikhou Kouyate but it's taken off his toe!

Dan: Re Peter 14:26 - is it not just that City have started really well and Palace can't get near them? Seen nothing to suggest Palace aren't putting the effort in.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's defensive header is picked straight up by David Silva, who then lays it off to Sergio Aguero on the edge of the box.

The striker has a pop and it flies dangerously wide of the keeper's right post.

Martin Kelly blocks Sergio Aguero's run and Christian Benteke holds the ball up well in midfield.

But the move breaks down when Aymeric Laporte is clipped on the right.

It’s been a rear-guard action from Crystal Palace so far and as of yet Zaha and Townsend haven’t got on the ball. As a result, Benteke has been starved of any kind of service and has been chasing shadows.

Cheikhou Kouyate's first involvement is to set Wilfried Zaha free with a smart pass to his left.

Zaha is held up by Kyle Walker then he loses his footing and lets the ball slip into Raheem Sterling's pass.

Wilfried Zaha has brought some party tricks with him today. He turns Raheem Sterling inside out with a slick backwards roll between his legs.

But within seconds City have won the ball back. It's relentless!

Cheikhou Kouyate replaces the injured Jeffrey Schlupp.

Crystal Palace 0-1 Man City

Jeffrey Schlupp looks in a bit of bother after clashing with Vincent Kompany in the air.

After receiving some medical attention, he's being helped straight down the tunnel by the Palace medical staff. His side are momentarily down to 10 men.

Raheem Sterling's runs are causing problems. Ilkay Gundogan sees him dart to the backline and lifts a lovely ball over the top.

The flag is up but I think Aaron Wan-Bissaka is playing him onside...

That goal pushes Manchester City to the top of the table.
