Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. speaking to Match of the Day: "We were beaten on all aspects today and the only place we beat Everton - I can't say we beat them - but we had a fantastic support and I just want to apologise for the performance we turned out.

"We have been fantastic for long periods and it's a tough league to get into the top four, never mind winning the league - there are six teams there and Everton want to be in there.

"We know it's a big task and work to be done. We have to do it together, we have to get on with it because this is not good enough.

"You have got to start somewhere and we will give it everything we have got with the last four games - massive games with City and Chelsea coming to Old Trafford - that's where we get the best support in the world.

"We can turn it around, in football like in life things can change quickly. We have got to change it from bad to good.

"We need a game of football as soon as we can as we need to get this out of the systems, everyone here can say with hands on hearts that's not good enough, not worthy of a Manchester United team. We know that and apologise again to fans."

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to Sky Sports: "From the first whistle everything went wrong. I just want to apologise to the fans. They’re the only people with the badge on today who can hold their head high, because we can't.

"Everton were better than us at all the basics. There are so many things that we need to do better to get a result. Talent has never been enough.

"We just didn’t perform. That was not worthy of a Manchester United team. We hold our hands up and apologise to everyone associated with the club. We have a perfect chance to make amends on Wednesday [against Manchester City]."

I haven't had or even seen a single egg. It's almost like these national holidays aren't for 35-year-old men.

This is a huge match for both sides, but there's little tension in the air at Cardiff City Stadium at the moment.

Maybe it's the nice weather or perhaps everyone's feeling the lethargy that comes towards the end of an Easter egg-filled bank holiday, but the overriding sense here seems to be one of quiet contentment.

You'd think that would change once the game kicks off. It's a sell-out crowd and the home fans usually create a fervent atmosphere here.

Mark Chmarny: Massive opportunity for Arsenal. With Man Utd getting trashed, these are must-win points against Palace to get into the Champions League next season.

Arsenal will go third, three points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea if they beat Crystal Palace.

Everton

Everton boss Marco Silva, speaking to Sky Sports: "Delighted with the players, it's important to remind you what we did in the last four home games - we're on a fantastic run.

"Our last performance away was not good enough and we must show something different, we did. We were the best team on the pitch from the first to last minute.

"A clean sheet again is important and we keep fighting for what we want. When we won against Chelsea we were 26 games without a win against the top six, after we won I said every time we will change that and now we are playing with quality at home.

"It's important to see our fans enjoying what we are doing - everything what I want as a manager. We are doing really well. Last seven games, five clean sheets."

Seth Gogo Egoeh: Lukaku (can't control a ball), Pogba (inconsistent), Matic & Fred (can't make simple pass, mis-control and can't play under pressure) - these are all players bought by Jose Mourinho. Though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to take blame, I still think it's too early to judge him.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville on Sky Sports: "The United players, it's embarrassing watching some of them out there today. I'm absolutely furious. Full belief in Ole to do what he needs to do, the club will obviously support him.

"But there's a big problem and I have to say that performance was rancid."

It looks like a brilliant, buoyant atmosphere inside the Cardiff City stadium pre-match. I got unexpectedly lashed by the sun at a game on Friday. You can't beat this time of the season...

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock: "We just want to give a good performance and not get a battering really.

"If we freeze and make a mistake early on, we may as well go home. They will just pick you off. That's what you get with quality players."

At times Jordan Henderson is a little bit limited - he plays simple balls at times. He does have it in the locker though.

He's a big lad, when he starts running he's tough to stop. In order to survive at Liverpool, he realises he needs to play the simple game.

Aaron: Feels all sorts of wrong to be disappointed at a Man Utd hammering but speaking for Liverpool fans we were hoping they might do us a favour and cause Man City to drop points. Based on that performance... seems unlikely. Solskjaer effect well and truly dead now.
