Sean Morrison isn't getting much luck in the opposition box this season.

The Cardiff captain had a couple of penalty appeals turned down in recent matches against Liverpool and Chelsea, and he's had another waved away here after that tussle with Alesandar Mitrovic.

No doubt Neil Warnock will have something to say about that after the match.

A penalty shout for Cardiff perhaps? Aleksandar Mitrovic jostles with Sean Morrison as they challenge for a header in the Fulham box. However, referee Chris Kavanagh waves away the Cardiff's appeals. Neil Warnock gives his opinion with some strong words to fourth official Michael Oliver.

Serbia international Mitrovic is then involved at the other end with a daisy cutter from the edge of the box which is pushed to safety by Cardiff goalkeeper Neil Etheridge.

The game starting to open up now.

Fulham have started well. They have been very impressive so far and want to pass the ball about all corners of the pitch.

Cardiff seem quite intent to get the ball up quickly. It's fascinating to see two different styles of play.

Everything is on a knife edge at this stage of the season.

The conditions are going to play a part. When the ball goes in the air, it's swirling it around.

It's a positive start from Fulham, though.

It's a day for layers and woolly hats at Craven Cottage, where the wind is seriously blustery.

I've foolishly forgotten to pack a hat but former Cardiff and Wales striker Nathan Blake - part of the BBC Radio Wales commentary team today - planned ahead and is looking the part in his ushanka (one of those Russian fur caps with ear flaps).

Cardiff fans might be nervous, but boss Neil Warnock has at least been trying to alleviate the pressure on his players in the build up to such a crunch game in their survival bid.

Warnock said: "I know it sounds silly because you'd think there would be more pressure on us, but since the Chelsea game the shackles have been off us.

"We just think we'll do what we can now and what will be will be. We played like that at Brighton, and I'd be quite happy if we played like we have done the last few weeks."

'Now or never' time for Cardiff, a scenario no one envisaged them even being in back in August.

The odds are still stacked against Neil Warnock's side but a win at Craven Cottage would keep hopes alive and also increase the pressure on Brighton, kicking off later at home to Newcastle. Chris Hughton's team would then be out of the drop zone only on goal difference by the time they began at the Amex.

The Bluebirds won't be short on effort or spirit but have they got the goals in them to pull it off?

They face a Fulham side who have belatedly come to life with back-to-back wins and successive clean sheets, momentum that Scott Parker will be determined for them to maintain.

These two sides know each other well. Before being locked in the battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League, last season they were both vying for the second automatic promotion place from the Championship.

It was a clash of styles – Fulham’s slick, one-touch passing play against Cardiff’s efficient, muscular approach – which prompted a fair bit of debate between the two sets of fans.

Most of it was good-natured but there are bound to be a few Fulham supporters who would delight in seeing their side drag Cardiff down with them back to the second tier.

Neil Warnock's furrowed brow on arrival at Craven Cottage says it all. He knows this a decisive day in the battle to beat the drop for his Cardiff side.

With Brighton hosting Newcastle later on this evening Cardiff have the chance to pull level on points with the Seagulls with a victory at Fulham.

However, the already-relegated Cottagers have back-to-back Premier League wins and successive clean sheets under caretaker boss Scott Parker.

The pressure is all on Warnock's men. Will they handle it? We'll find out over the next couple of hours so stick with us.
