  1. Halliday in for Rangers - and Jack passed fitpublished at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2019

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

A solitary change for the visitors too as Andy Halliday steps in for Borna Barisic at left-back. The Croatian drops out of the squad altogether - Rangers haven't said whether he is injured.

Ryan Jack has overcome a knock to keep his place in midfield.

Defender Gareth McAuley has sustained a hamstring injury which required a scan while Jamie Murphy and Graham Dorrans are continuing their rehabilitation work amid lengthy lay-offs.

  2. Mallan replaces suspended Slivka for Hibspublished at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2019

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Vykintas Slivka, one of their better performers in the cup loss to Celtic, leaves a 6ft 3in-sized hole in the Hibs midfield as he serves a suspension.

The Lithuanian was shown two bookings in Hibs' win over St Johnstone - the first, for a hilariously bad dive; the second, when he was ruled to have fouled Tony Watt, who himself took a highly suspicious tumble.

Stevie Mallan replaces him in the only change made by Paul Heckingbottom. The midfielder has scored 10 goals this season.

Still no Ryan Gauld, Steven Whittaker or Thomas Ageypong - all long-term absentees - while Ryan Porteous and Martin Boyle are out for the season.

  4. How it standspublished at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2019

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Here's how the Scottish Premiership looks ahead of tonight's fixture.

Sixth-placed Hibs would overtake their city rivals Hearts with victory, given their significantly superior goal difference, and bolster their bid for a top-six finish.

Rangers can narrow the gap on foes Celtic to five points at the summit if they get a win in Leith. Celtic host Aberdeen tomorrow.

  5. Strap yourselves in...published at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2019

    Hibernian v Rangers (19:45)

Hibernian and Rangers don't really do "dull".

In the last few years, we've had cup final chaos, an on-field scrap, Neil Lennon noising up an enraged Ibrox support, a 10-goal belter and, earlier this term, one of the worst tackles of the season from Ryan Porteous.

Hibs are the only Scottish team Steven Gerrard has faced and failed to beat as Rangers manager. Their two meetings this campaign - both in December - ended in draws.

Tonight, Hibs look to extend their three-match Premiership winning run and bounce back from a rather meek Scottish Cup quarter-final exit to Celtic.

Rangers are on a 10-game unbeaten streak but have only won at Easter Road once from their last five trips to Leith.
