Following an incident involving some PSG fans here earlier today, the Metropolitan Police have provided the following statement to BBC Sport:

"At approximately 08:00, police were called to reports of a group of Paris St-Germain supporters causing criminal damage at Kingsmeadow Stadium in Kingston.

"Officers attended but all those involved had left the scene.

"Later in the day, officers were made aware of sporadic instances of disorder involving PSG supporters at both Waterloo and Wimbledon stations.

"Those involved were identified and when they attended Kingsmeadow Stadium this evening they were stopped. A coach they travelled in was searched and weapons, including knives and knuckle dusters, were recovered along with class A drugs.

"One man from the coach was arrested for possession of class A drugs and the remaining passengers were escorted from the area by police.

"Enquiries continue."

On comes Fran Kirby and suddenly Chelsea spring in to life!

She almost immediately adds to the five goals she's scored so far in this competition this season, from four games.

In the same way that Shuang Wang seemed to spark PSG into life, Fran Kirby has had the same impact for Chelsea here.

She scored a hat-trick in her last Champions League match - that thumping second-leg win at Fiorentina in the last round. I think she'd settle for just one goal tonight.

Oh my - and Fran Kirby has very nearly scored with her first touch. Maybe she should've done, too!

Bethany England plays the substitute in behind but Kirby can only drag her effort wide of the far post. Right idea, wrong execution.

Now Chelsea boss Emma Hayes turns to the bench for the first time tonight, replacing Ji So-Yun with England forward Fran Kirby.

Kirby is widely cheered on to the pitch - I think that change is a pretty popular one.

Paris Saint-Germain have started pretty well in this second half though, you know.

The visitors, all in white this evening, win an early corner... But Chelsea get it clear.

I think I've seen more exciting halves in those tins of apricot halves you can buy in the supermarket. It's not been a thriller, has it?

But with a clean sheet, especially the avoidance of conceding an early away goal, Chelsea have a solid platform now from which to push on after the break.

Media interest in this Champions League quarter-final, coupled with that new sponsorship deal for the Women's Super League, is a sign of the game's growth, according to Karen Carney.

The England midfielder said before the game that the build-up had been in stark contrast to when she was part of the Birmingham side that lost to Tyreso of Sweden in the semi-finals five years ago.

"I'd be surprised if many people knew we were in it, to be honest. That's not being disrespectful to Birmingham fans - I am one. It's just the level of interest was disappointing," Carney, 31, told BBC Sport.

"The game is growing so big and so fast. Everything that we've wanted is happening."

Chelsea boss Emma Hayes has described the new sponsorship deal as "watershed moment" and says the Women's Super League will become the best in the world.

"You need somebody like Barclays to say 'I'll be the first'." Hayes, 42, told BBC Sport.

"The interest is growing. It's a snowball-effect and I can't see anybody getting in the way of England becoming the best place in the world to play."

Barclays is to become the Women's Super League first ever title sponsor, in a deal the Football Association has called "the biggest ever investment in UK women's sport by a brand".

The three-year partnership, understood to be worth in excess of £10m, will start from next season.

The competition will be rebranded the Barclays FA Women's Super League and include a prize-money pot of £500,000.

Previously, WSL winners have not been awarded any official prize money.
