Paris Saint-Germain have enjoyed a similarly dominant run so far in this year's competition.

The beat Austrian side St Polten 6-1 on aggregate first up, before a 5-2 victory against Swedish giants Linkopings in the last 16.

Emma Hayes' Chelsea have absolutely breezed through to this stage of the competition, with two thumping aggregate wins in the two previous rounds.

They kicked off their campaign with an 11-0 win over two legs against SFK 2000 Sarajevo - the second a 6-0 home win, during which Fran Kirby registered her 50th Blues goal.

They followed that up with a 7-0 success against Fiorentina, who'd actually come away from the first leg at Kingsmeadow with a credible 1-0 defeat.

Can they keep wracking up the goals tonight?

A coach load of PSG supporters who arrived from Paris early this morning damaged a door and graffitied the ground before heading in to town and coming back this afternoon.

I'm told the police have uncovered several weapons and drugs on the bus, including a knuckle duster, while I've spoken to someone who saw a box of knives.

Those fans' tickets have been confiscated and the supporters involved are believed to be banned from PSG men's and youth games, but not the women's - until now.

The police presence here tonight has been unusually strong for a women's match. Around three hours before kick-off, there were nine police vans outside the ground here at Kingsmeadow and at least 45 officers.

We understand that a coach full of Paris St-Germain fans have been turned away following searches.

We were expecting around 115 fans from the French capital to attend tonight's match but it's not clear how many will actually get to see tonight's game.

England has only ever produced one Women's Champions League winner, with Arsenal lifting the trophy back in 2007.

Chelsea are the country's sole representative in this year's edition and face a tricky route through to the final if they are to emulate the Gunners' success 12 years again.

Tonight, they welcome French side Paris Saint-Germain to Kingsmeadow for the first leg of their quarter-final.

For the first time in 10 seasons, four English sides have made it through to the last eight of the men's Champions League.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham have all reached the quarter-final stage of this year's competition, evoking memories of the 2000s when Premier League clubs enjoyed numerous glorious days on the continent.

So, if the good times are on the way back for England's male teams, can the women follow suit?...
