  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Millwall 0-0 Stoke

Millwall are 45 minutes away from securing a valuable point but really, Stoke should be ahead with Benik Afobe forcing a good save from David Martin early on and James McClean striking the underside of the bar in the 16th minute.

  2. Barnsley chase second spotpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Barnsley v Blackpool (15:00 BST)

It has been a fine week for Barnsley as they dominated this week's PFA 2018-19 League One team of the year.

The Tykes had five players named in the team, three more than leaders Luton Town.

Goalkeeper Adam Davies, defenders Dimitri Cavare and Ethan Pinnock, midfielder Alex Mowatt and striker Kieffer Moore were all included.

But can they cap off their fine showing in the team of the year with promotion back to the Championship?

The Reds welcome Blackpool to Oakwell, knowing that Sunderland and Portsmouth will be breathing down their necks for second spot.

  3. Luton to end long, long road back?published at 14:12 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Burton v Luton (15:00 BST)

    Luton TownImage source, Rex Features

Today could be the day that Luton finally seal their return to the Championship for the first time since 2007.

Victory at Burton today could see the Hatters secure successive promotions.

It's been a turbulent 12 years since their relegation from the second tier. The Kenilworth Road side suffered three straight relegations to drop in the National League.

It then took them five years to get back to the EFL and a further four to reach League One but this season has been plain sailing, despite manager Nathan Jones leaving for Stoke in January.

Promotion now looks within sight but the 10th-placed Brewers will be no pushovers and Hatters fans know better than most not to take anything for granted.

  4. CLOSE!published at 14:09 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Millwall 0-0 Stoke

First real chance for Millwall as Lee Gregory's cross finds Ryan Leonard who heads the ball narrowly wide with Jack Butland stranded in the centre of his goal.

An opener for Millwall would be huge in the fight for survival at the bottom of the Championship.

What's at stake today at the top of League One?

Luton Town need a maximum of four points from their last two games to clinch promotion to the Championship and two wins from two would give them the title no matter what anyone else does.

The Hatters will be promoted today if:

    • They win against Burton AND either Barnsley or Portsmouth fail to win. (If Luton win AND Barnsley fail to win AND Pompey fail to win, Luton will be champions today)
    • If Luton draw at Burton AND Barnsley lose AND Sunderland fail to beat Portsmouth (as only Pompey could catch them in that instance)

If Luton draw, however, AND Barnsley lose AND Sunderland beat Portsmouth, then the Hatters will be on the brink of promotion.

That is because Sunderland could still catch them, but Barnsley could not and Portsmouth would require a 15-goal swing in their final two games as well as Luton's last remaining game.

    Phew.

    Millwall 0-0 Stoke

When the fixture list was released back in June many Stoke fans may have thought that this game away to Millwall may have been the day that the Potters would seal promotion.

It wasn't to be for the Staffordshire club this season but they are giving their supporters a good showing today.

Sam Clucas has a couple of crosses which narrowly miss Benik Afobe in the Millwall penalty area.

  7. Battling to stay in League Onepublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

Bottom of League OneImage source, BBC Sport

It's quite complicated in the battle against the drop from League One so bear with us.

Walsall will be relegated to League Two today if:

    • They lose to Peterborough (whatever happens elsewhere)
    • They draw against Peterborough and Southend avoid defeat. This is because Plymouth play Scunthorpe on the final day of the season, meaning of those two teams will surpass 48 points
    • They draw AND AFC Wimbledon win
    • They draw AND Plymouth avoid defeat AND Scunthorpe win
    • They win AND Southend & Plymouth both win
    • They win AND Southend win AND Plymouth draw AND Scunthorpe win

Scunthorpe will be relegated today if they lose AND Southend & Plymouth both win.

Finally, AFC Wimbledon will be relegated today if:

    • They lose AND Southend & Plymouth both win
    • They lose AND Southend win AND Plymouth draw AND Scunthorpe win

Oh, and all the teams up to 13th in the table could still get dragged into the fight against relegation.

Bury had hoped to clinch promotion to League One today but their game at fellow-promotion hopefuls Tranmere fell foul of the weather.

Mansfield can’t go up today with a win over Stevenage – but if they win AND Milton Keynes lose AND Forest Green fail to win, Mansfield will still be promoted unless they lose to Milton Keynes by at least five goals on the final day next Saturday.

The Dons visit Colchester, while Forest Green make the trip up to Crewe.

  10. Postpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Millwall 0-0 Stoke

No one can accuse the Stoke players of already being on holiday in this one.

They're dominating possession at The Den and when Millwall do win the ball back, they're being pressed almost all the way back to the edge of their own area.

This could be a very long day for the hosts.

  11. National League final day latestpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

We're midway through the second half in the final round of National League fixtures, and Leyton Orient are still on course for the title and a return to the English Football League.

They only need a point to be crowned champions and are still goalless at home to Braintree.

Salford City are drawing 1-1 at Hartlepool, while Solihull have just equalised at Dagenham, but those scorelines won't be enough even if the O's are beaten.

Bottom of League TwoImage source, BBC Sport

It's been a horrendous season for the EFL's oldest club, Notts County.

The Magpies are on their third manager of the season, are up for sale and have spent almost the whole campaign in the bottom two.

Worse still, defeat today could see them relegated from the Football League for the first time in their 157-year history.

Notts and Yeovil will both be playing in the National League next season if Macclesfield win at Port Vale and they fail to beat Grimsby and Northampton Town respectively.

  13. Stoke hit the woodworkpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Millwall 0-0 Stoke

Peter Etebo superbly plays through Tom Ince, who lays the ball off to James McClean.

The Republic of Ireland international strikes the ball first time and rattles the underside of the bar.

Stoke could - and should - be 2-0 up.

Tranmere v Bury may have fallen foul of the weather but a big day awaits in League Two nonetheless, with relegation still to be decided and two of the three promotion places still up for grabs.

All matches kick off at 15:00 BST:

    • Cambridge United v Morecambe
    • Carlisle United v Crawley Town
    • Cheltenham Town v Swindon Town
    • Colchester United v Milton Keynes Dons
    • Crewe Alexandra v Forest Green Rovers
    • Exeter City v Oldham Athletic
    • Mansfield Town v Stevenage

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:40 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Millwall 0-0 Stoke

First attack for Stoke and it should be 1-0. A great run by full-back Moritz Bauer who drags the ball back to Benik Afobe but the big forward blasts his shot straight at Millwall keeper David Martin.

  17. Postpublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Millwall 0-0 Stoke

Neil Harris' side have started the brighter at The Den and the Lions have won two early corners which were both well dealt with by Stoke.

Millwall are up for this one.

A Bury win at Tranmere today would have seen them secure an immediate return to League One.

Sadly for Shakers fans, their wait to try to confirm promotion is going to have to go on until at least Tuesday after the game was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

The match at Prenton Park will now kick off at 19:45 BST on Tuesday, 30 April.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Millwall 0-0 Stoke

The first of our EFL games today kicks off and it could have huge implications down at the bottom of the Championship.

Millwall have lost each of their past six matches against Stoke, but a win today would almost guarantee their safety thanks to their vastly superior goal difference.

  20. Bolton woes continue with Bees postponementpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    Bolton P-P Brentford

    Bolton WanderersImage source, Rex Features

Just before today's EFL action gets under way at The Den, you may have noticed that Bolton's match against Brentford has been postponed.

The EFL called off Saturday's match after Wanderers players said they would not play until they received outstanding wages.

Bolton have now been told that they must complete their two remaining Championship fixtures this season by the English Football League Board.

An EFL statement said the "ownership difficulties" at the relegated club "remain a significant concern".

Wanderers have already been relegated to League One.
