  1. YELLOW CARD (Zimmermann)published at 64 mins

    Norwich 2-1 Blackburn

That's not a good challenge from Christoph Zimmermann, who goes straight through the back of Ben Brereton and concedes a free-kick on the edge of the box.

    Bradley Dack will take...

  2. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Norwich 2-1 Blackburn

Right-back Max Aarons, one of Norwich's best players this season, finds himself in the Blackburn box but can't keep his strike on target.

The Canaries shot count is now past 20.

    Norwich 2-1 Blackburn

We're into the final half an hour at Carrow Road. Blackburn have definitely been better since half-time, although Norwich have never looked hugely troubled.

    Onel HernandezImage source, Rex Features

My, my, my - that would've certainly helped!

Onel Hernandez flies forward, throws a couple of stepovers and then absolutely hammers a shot from about 20 yards out on to the top of the crossbar. That would've been another cracking goal.

This is quite a comparison, because we all know how good Wolves were last season, but this Norwich side do remind me a bit of Nuno's men.

The quick feet, the intricate passing, the slick interplay. They may not have the star names that some teams in this division do, but this is a really good Canaries side. They'll surprise a few next season.

  8. YELLOW CARD (Dack)published at 53 mins

    Norwich 2-1 Blackburn

He was possibly fortunate not to be booked in the first half for a poor challenge but he won't get away with it this time. Bradley Dack gets a yellow card.

But that's a bit more like it from Blackburn, who work the ball quite nicely before Elliott Bennett blasts his attempted cross straight out of play.

Canaries boss Daniel Farke comes marching out to the edge of his technical area to bark some instructions. That was a warning sign from Rovers, if nothing else.

    Different half, same game.

Norwich City are immediately on the front foot, as Teemu Pukki peels off his marker at the back post before sending a fizzing effort across goal, which is just about blocked.

From the follow-up, Emi Buendia attempts an audacious overhead kick but it's turned behind.

    FT: Bristol City 0-2 Derby

And another team whose hopes of promotion were left hanging very much in the balance were Bristol City.

Following his side's loss against Derby County earlier, which severely dented their play-off hopes, Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol: “It’s a really tough one to stomach because we started on the front foot, and were excellent in terms of attitude. We pressed, we won tackles, we were competitive.

“The first breakaway gets them their goal, so I’m disappointed with that. That’s happened slightly too much in the season as a whole.

“We are still fighting, but it’s not in our hands. We’ve got to go and do our job now and win our next two games.”

  14. 'That is probably our worst performance'published at 20:27 British Summer Time 27 April 2019

    FT: Burton 2-1 Luton

    Mick HarfordImage source, Rex Features

One team who didn't get across the line today were Luton Town.

At 1-0 it looked like the Hatters were set to be crowned champions of League One but, in the space of 11 minutes, two Lucas Akins goals meant that they still have work to do to ensure promotion to the Championship.

Luton caretaker boss Mick Harford said: “We didn’t perform today. Ever since I was given the opportunity to manage the football club that is probably our worst performance in terms of the way we played.

“Overall we are very disappointed but we move on."

    HT: Norwich 2-1 Blackburn

Just to remind you, Norwich City need only a point to confirm their promotion to the Premier League. They're already all-but there, but just for the sake of mathematics we'll call it a point.

And they're almost certainly going to be joined in the top flight next season by Sheffield United, who beat Ipswich Town earlier to go six points clear of Leeds United with two to play - but, like Norwich, with a vastly superior goal difference.

If Norwich City play as well in the second half as they have in the first they'll be partying on the streets of Norfolk tonight, of that I have no doubt.

Delia Smith's in the building and I imagine she's done a fair bit of applauding during this first half. Norwich have been superb and I can't really explain why they're not more than one goal in front.
