    Bradford 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon were bottom of the table and 10 points from safety in February.

But one defeat in 11 games in March and April means the Dons are close to pulling off a great escape.

They started the day two points above the relegation zone, and a draw should be enough to see them survive.

Dons keeper Aaron Ramsdale has had to make a save, denying Kelvin Mellor.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 Walsall

    Kieffer Moore (12 mins)

Anything Luton can do, Barnsley can match.

The Tykes take the lead as a deep cross is headed back across goal and Kieffer Moore forces Rovers keeper Adam Smith into a save - but was Smith behind the goalline?

The ball rebounds back into the net off a Rovers defender, so it could go down as an own goal.

But Moore will be wanting to claim that one.

That means any Luton slip-up will hand Barnsley the title.

    Southend 0-0 Sunderland

A huge save from Sunderland goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin!

There's some lovely play in the midfield by Southend and Dru Yearwood is played through clean on goal before he's denied by a stunning McLaughlin save.

The hosts are well up for this and they need to be after that Plymouth goal!

  9. goal

GOAL: Plymouth 1-0 Scunthorpepublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Lloyd Jones (8 mins)

Plymouth take an early lead and it is a scrappy goal.

After a scramble from a long throw-in, an Argyle player strikes the bar with an effort from inside the area.

But Lloyd Jones is there to capitalise and head in from close range.

That goal takes Argyle out of the bottom four, with Southend taking their place as things stand.

    Wycombe 0-0 Fleetwood

A big chance for Wycombe as Adebayo Akinfenwa works the ball to Jason McCarthy who tees up Scott Kashket.

However his lob over Fleetwood keeper Alex Cairns is ultimately cleared away.

    Southend 0-0 Sunderland

Southend win two quickfire corners as they race to score an early goal against Sunderland at Roots Hall.

There's some nice work between Stephen McLaughlin and Sam Mantom, the latter of which tries to hook a shot in from inside the box before it's blocked away.

A bright start from the hosts.

The Hatters take an early step towards the title.

George Moncur bends a right-footed free-kick around the wall and into the bottom right-hand corner.

Perhaps U's keeper Simon Eastwood could have done better, but Luton fans won't mind.

  15. Can Nancekivell save Argyle?published at 17:27 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

Plymouth Argyle v Scunthorpe United (17:30 BST)

    Kevin Nancekivell

Plymouth Argyle fans have had a couple of months to forget.

One win in 11 games since the start of March, coupled with six losses and two draws in their past eight games has seen the Pilgrims slip into the League One relegation zone.

It cost manager Derek Adams and assistant Paul Wotton their jobs last week, with club stalwart Kevin Nancekivell taking over for the final game against fellow strugglers Scunthorpe.

It is his second spell as caretaker, having taken the reigns alongside Romain Larrieu following Carl Fletcher's sacking in January 2013.

He played six games for Argyle in 2000, scoring once, and has been part of the club;ls coaching staff on and off since 2005.

"We've lost two good men who gave a hell of a lot to this club, but that's done and everybody's now focused on getting the three points," Nancekivell told BBC Radio Devon.

"We've got one game left to secure our future in League One and we need everyone pulling together.

"We need the supporters, the staff, the players, for however long it needs, to stay with us and I'm sure we'll get the response we want."

The three clubs immediately above the relegation zone have their fate in their own hands,

For Southend to stay up they must win against Sunderland, although a draw would be enough if Plymouth draw with Scunthorpe and Walsall fail to win.

AFC Wimbledon travel to already-relegated Bradford City knowing a draw would be enough if Southend fail to win or Plymouth do not win by more than four goals.

There is a scenario where the Dons could lose and stay up if results below them go their way.

Wycombe Wanderers take on Fleetwood Town knowing they are all but safe.

The only way Gareth Ainsworth's side can go down is if they lose and AFC Wimbledon, Southend and Plymouth Argyle all win - with Argyle overhauling a 12-goal disadvantage. Surely that is beyond the realms of possibility...

The crux is: win and these three sides will be safe.

Take a deep breath, because here is what could happen in the League One relegation zone in the next couple of hours....

Only one side - bottom club Bradford City - have already been relegated going into the final day.

That means there's a complicated battle which could see any of six teams fill the remaining three places in League Two next season.

We'll start the permutations and combinations with the teams who started the day in the bottom four.

The easy(ish) bit is Scunthorpe and Plymouth - they play one another so if one side loses they will go down.

If Scunthorpe win they will need either Southend and Walsall to fail to win, or one of those sides to fail to win and AFC Wimbledon to lose heavily, with the Iron making up an eight-goal swing in goal difference.

An Argyle victory would keep them up provided Southend fail to win or Wimbledon lose. Plymouth would also stay up if they win by four or more goals and the Dons fail to win.

Walsall will be down if they fail to win at Shrewsbury Town.

To stay up they have to win and hope that at least two of the following happen - AFC Wimbledon lose, Southend fail to win, Plymouth draw with Scunthorpe or Scunthorpe beat Plymouth - but not by seven goals more than Walsall.

If your head is hurting by this point then Mark Mitchener has put together this piece on who needs what to beat the drop.

  18. Rovers and Posh fight for final play-off placepublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

League One play-off raceImage source, .

The play-off picture is fairly straight-forward in League One with either Doncaster Rovers or Peterborough United vying for the final play-off spot.

Doncaster will make it if they take all three points when they host Coventry City, and a draw will be good enough if Posh do not beat Burton Albion at home.

Peterborough's inferior goal difference means they must win and hope Doncaster drop points.

With Luton and Barnsley already up, the next three are playing for position and to decide who they will face in the play-offs.

Portsmouth host Accrington, Sunderland travel to relegation-threatened Southend while Charlton host mid-table Rochdale.

It will be party time at Kenilworth Road this evening as Luton Town celebrate promotion back to the Championship following a 12-year absence.

While the game against Oxford United will decide whether the Hatters or rivals Barnsley win the League One title, it will also be a changing of the guard.

After Nathan Jones left to take over Stoke City in January club stalwart Mick Harford was put in caretaker charge - and what a job he has done winning 11 and losing just three of his 20 games in the dugout so far.

But he ruled himself out of the role permanently, and Luton have appointed former Belgium and West Brom assistant manager Graeme Jones to lead them in the Championship next season.

With experience of a World Cup semi-final, as well as time in the Premier league alongside Roberto Martinez, there will be high hopes that the Hatters will hold their own on their return to the second tier, having won promotion from League Two 12 months ago.

Luton or Barnsley for the title

League One top twoImage source, .

Luton Town and Barnsley were both promoted without kicking a ball in midweek after rivals Portsmouth and Sunderland lost their games in hand, so all that remains for them is the destiny of the title.

With the sides level on points, Luton, who entertain mid-table Oxford United, hold a four-goal advantage in goal difference over the Tykes, who travel to 16th-placed Bristol Rovers.

So, barring a Barnsley goal-fest (or a Hatters defensive catastrophe), Luton will lift the title if they match their rivals' result.
