The Blues threaten again as Ji So-yun heads a deep short corner back across goal into the danger area but there's no Chelsea teammate on hand to take advantage.

Wendie Renard becomes the latest Lyon player to be booked for a lunging tackle on Ji in the Chelsea half.

Lyon are beginning to threaten again, with Amel Majri firing over and Delphine Cascarino drilling straight at Chelsea keeper Ann-Katrin Berger from a tough angle.

That is Cascarino's final contribution as she is replaced by Shanice van de Sanden.

It's not quite next goal wins it, but it's not far off.

  9. CHANCEpublished at 56 mins

    Chelsea 1-1 Lyon (2-3 agg)

Lyon have been all-conquering in recent seasons - in France and in Europe. But it has to be said that Chelsea have more than matched them over a leg and a half here.

They have just created a huge chance to go ahead as Fran Kirby's superb run and cross set up Ramona Bachmann around 10 yards out but her goalbound shot is blocked by Amel Majri.

Superb positional defending from the Lyon full-back.

Chelsea are on the back foot at the start of this second half.

Lyon know a second away goal will kill this tie. Chelsea defenders Maren Mjelde and Millie Bright have just made a pair of crucial last-ditch blocks to keep the second-leg score at 1-1.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Chelsea 1-1 Lyon (2-3 agg)

Chelsea get the second half under way.

Will this 45 minutes provide the answer of who will meet Barcelona in the Women's Champions League final on 18 May?

Or will extra time be needed to separate these sides? A 2-1 Chelsea win is the only scoreline that can necessitate an additional 30 minutes at Kingsmeadow this afternoon.

Emma Hayes invited a Holocaust survivor to speak to her players this week to remind them to value life, telling BBC Sport:

"It was a reminder that we’re going to need resilience. But we can be good people and we can be humble in that process.

"I’m so proud of the club's work, rooting out discrimination in all forms. I thought it was important that the players received some education around the values of life and what people have gone through to be here.

"What we do, we’re extremely privileged. I felt the players benefited immensely from her story. We all recognised how lucky we are."

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 28 April 2019

    Chelsea 1-1 Lyon (2-3 agg)

What a half that was. You might have expected a cagey game with Lyon perhaps tempted to just protect their first-leg advantage. But that has not been the case.

The visiting supporters were celebrating when Maren Mjelde's own goal extended their aggregate lead to 3-1 but Chelsea have given as good as they have got and Ji So-yun's cracking free-kick has them deservedly level on the day.
