  1. D-day for Dundeepublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    St Johnstone v Dundee (15:00)

St Johnstone had long been resigned to missing out on the top six and will be looking to improve on a record of two wins in 13 outings.

However, two of them have come in their last four games - and both at home.

Today is more vital for the visitors, who are three points behind St Mirren - and seven adrift of Hamilton - at the foot of the table after seven consecutive defeats.

The bad news for the Dark Blues is that they have lost all three meetings with St Johnstone this season - including two at McDiarmid Park - all without scoring.

  2. Derby rivals united in poor formpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Hamilton Academical v Motherwell (15:00)

Hamilton are looking to end a run of three games without a win as they try to retain their four-point lead over St Mirren in the Premiership play-off spot and head into the Lanarkshire derby.

Visitors Motherwell are safe from relegation trouble but are themselves looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat and have not won in their last four away games.

However, Stephen Robinson's side have won their last two meetings with Accies after losing to their neighbours at Fir Park in their first meeting of the season.

  3. Buddies' minds on the gappublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Livingston v St Mirren (15:00)

Having secured their stay in the Premiership for next season, Livingston have St Mirren's fate in their hands.

St Mirren are second bottom, in the relegation play-off spot, after one win in five games have left them four points adrift of Hamilton.

Livingston have twice as many points as their visitors but have only one of their past four games.

However, their confidence will have been boosted by a 0-0 draw away to champions-elect Celtic in their last outing.

St Mirren are looking to repeat their win over Livingston on their own patch in March after losing home and away to today's hosts earlier in the season.

  4. Shinnie 'likely' to leave Aberdeenpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (15:00)

Manager Derek McInnes has revealed that there is still an outside chance his captain Graeme Shinnie will remain with Aberdeen next season but admits it is "very unlikely", with the midfielder in talks with Derby County.

McInnes is disappointed that, after months of asking Shinnie about his future, that he learned about the possible move to Derby through the newspapers but admits the Scotland international will be a big miss as his contract runs down.

  5. Brophy and Shinnie returnpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (15:00)

Kilmarnock boss Steve Clarke makes one change from the side that defeated St Johnstone 2-0 at Rugby Park last weekend, with Eamonn Brophy returning from injury to replace veteran Scotland striker Kris Boyd.

Aberdeen's Derek McInnes makes three changes from the side that lost 3-0 to Celtic and had two players sent off in last weekend's Scottish Cup semi-final.

Captain Graeme Shinnie returns after being suspended and is joined in midfield by Stephen Gleeson, while Michael Devlin comes into defence.

The debate is now whether it will be four at the back or whether Devlin will join Scott McKenna and Andrew Considine in a back three.

Forward Greg Stewart is missing from the squad, while Lewis Ferguson is suspended because of his Hampden red card and young midfielder Dean Campbell drops to the bench.

Dominic Ball, who is not suspended despite his red card, could move from his right-back berth into midfield.

  6. Miller carries Dundee hopespublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    St Johnstone v Dundee (15:00)

Experienced striker Kenny Miller is back to lead the line in one of two changes to the Dundee team from their last outing, a 2-0 home loss to Aberdeen that extended the Dark Blues' losing streak to seven. Also drafted in is on-loan Aberdeen attacking midfielder Scott Wright, with Ethan Robson and Jesse Curran the two players dropping out.

St Johnstone replace the suspended Jason Kerr with Liam Gordon in the sole alteration to the team beaten 2-0 at Kilmarnock last time out.

Rarely has a Tayside derby been so important for Dundee. Bottom of the table with five games left - the Dark Blues urgently need to start winning.

St Johnstone’s recent form hasn’t been great either, a victory over today’s opponents earlier this month was one of just two wins in their last 12 league games.

Seventh-place Saints don’t have a huge amount to play for, but Tommy Wright will be hoping they can muster up a strong finish to a frustrating campaign for his side.

  7. Hearts have 'plenty to play for'published at 14:28 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    FT: Hearts 1-3 Rangers

Hearts manager Craig Levein tells Sportsound that he's not worried about morale after a third league defeat on the bounce.

"Giving two goals away doesn’t help, it gives our opponents a lift," he says. "Because we didn’t get the press right meant we dithered on the ball.

"We were better in the second half, playing a bit more open. The good thing is we have plenty of time to get it right (before the Scottish Cup final).

"I'm disappointed in the way we pressed Rangers today. We usually do better at Tynecastle.

"It’s now about making sure we do better next time out. There’s plenty to play for and places to play for."

    FT: Hearts 1-3 Rangers

"I can't ask for any more," a delighted Rangers boss Steven Gerrard tells Sky Sports after a comfortable win at Tynecastle.

"The supporters deserve four more strong performances before the end of the season.

"We've underachieved at certain times, we've done well at times. Consistency is a word that has has come up a lot.

"When we become capable of stringing a long winning run together that's when we will be challenging."

Rangers can now look forward to three home games in a row, with Aberdeen, Hibs and Celtic the visitors.

  10. County close to title; tight at bottompublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Scottish Championship

Last night's win for Ross County over Ayr United has put the pressure on second-top Dundee United as they visit fourth-top Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Should the Terrors fail to win at Caledonian Stadium, the title and automatic promotion is County's with two games left to play.

It is much tighter at the other end of the table, where bottom-placed Partick Thistle host Alloa Athletic, four points ahead and seeking a fifth consecutive win.

Falkirk, a point above Thistle, host Greenock Morton, who are two points above, while Queen of the South, above Falkirk on goal difference, host Dunfermline Athletic.

  11. Brechin and Stenny on brinkpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Scottish League One

With Arbroath having clinched the League One title last weekend, the focus is on the chase for play-off places and to avoid relegation.

Raith Rovers visit Arbroath tomorrow and that means Forfar Athletic can move back above the Fifers into second should they win away to bottom side Stenhousemuir.

Montrose moved into fourth spot last weekend and host Airdrieonians, while East Fife, who dropped to fifth, visit Dumbarton.

Stanraer could clinch their place in League One next season should they win at home to second bottom Brechin City.

Wins for Forfar, East Fife and Stranraer would leave Brechin and Stenny fighting to avoid automatic relegation.

Clyde, four points adrift in second, can't afford any slips, but they will fancy their chances at home to bottom side Berwick Rangers.

Albion Rovers are two points above the relegation play-off spot as they host third-top Edinburgh City.

  16. 'Huge match' in store at Rugby Parkpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (15:00)

    Jonathan Sutherland
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

This is a huge match for both sides.

Locked on the same points, a win today for either would hand the victorious side real initiative in the race for Europe.

For Steve Clarke the game will probably come as a welcome relief after all the speculation surrounding him in terms of the Scotland job. It’s been two weeks since his side last played. The players have had a rest, but Clarke has been critical of the fixture scheduling bemoaning how it interferes with the rhythm of his squad.

As for Aberdeen, how will they respond after their bruising and ultimately dispiriting Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic? Their consolation is this remarkable stat - they have won their last nine league matches at Rugby Park.

Although it was only a two-goal gap, Rangers were terrific, showing brilliant movement into the gaps that Hearts were leaving. They showed a good mentality too. It was a very good performance although a clean sheet would have been the icing on the cake.

The Premiership leaders are at Easter Road tomorrow, which should be a tasty encounter.
