  1. How many last chances for Sanchez?published at 13:23 British Summer Time 5 May 2019

It feels like Alexis Sanchez has been using up 'last chance' cards at an amazing rate.

His latest appearance, as a substitute against Chelsea last week, when United needed some inspiration to retain realistic hopes of finishing in the top four, was yet another disappointment.

He could not have a more accommodating opponent today. Apart from Wolves, Huddersfield haven't beaten anybody since Bonfire Night.

  2. 'Victory a must for Chelsea'published at 13:16 British Summer Time 5 May 2019

Chelsea can't afford to rest players for this game even though their Europa league semi-final is still in the balance.

A league victory here is a must. It would keep them in the box seat for a top-four finish and Champions League football for next season.

They also need to ensure their winless league run doesn't stretch to four games. It would be their worst in three years.

After the top-seven shootout defeat by Wolves, Watford must surely now be focusing on the FA Cup final, where they can surprise Manchester City. It's 23 years and 11 visits since they won at Chelsea, who usually finish a home campaign well. I'll take them to do so again.

Chelsea: Kepa, Alonso, Christensen Luiz, Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic, Pedro, Hazard, Higuain.

Subs: Caballero, Barkley, Loftus-Cheek, Giroud, Zappacosta, Willian, Cahill.

Watford welcome back captain Troy Deeney after suspension as boss Javi Gracia makes two changes to the side that was beaten 2-1 at home by Wolves in the Premier League last weekend.

Deeney replaces Andre Gray, who drops to the bench. Nathaniel Chalobah also comes in for his first league start since December in place of Etienne Capoue, who is not risked due to a minor groin problem.

Watford: Foster, Femenia, Cathcart, Mariappa, Holebas, Hughes, Doucoure, Chalobah, Pereyra, Deulofeu, Deeney.

Subs: Gomes, Janmaat, Cleverley, Success, Masina, Gray, Kabasele.

Matthew: The race for the top 4 has been more like the race for Europa League. United leading the way but with 2 red cards and an injured Kane, Tottenham are still showing some promise. Too close to call at the moment.

James Ross: Gooner fan since 97 and see a lazy, placid team, lacking stars or heroes, leaders or passion. Should be third and comfortable. Manager delusionally in cruise mode. Not good enough.

Alexis Sanchez STARTS a game of professional football! Remember the day. Someone else will have to walk Atom and Humber this afternoon.

Also in are Phil Jones and Scott McTominay. Huddersfield make three changes as they look to score a goal.

Huddersfield have scored just nine home league goals this season. In top-flight history, no side has ever failed to reach double figures for home goals in a single campaign.

In terms of their gossamer thin top-four chances, all United can do is win and hope for the unexpected elsewhere.

As bizarre as it seems though, their own victory might be the part that lets them down - even at a ground where 14 others have won away this season.

Huddersfield won this fixture last term and might as well give it a go again on their home farewell to the Premier League.

And I mean give it a real go. It would be nice (if bitter sweet) for Town fans to see them score more than once in a home league match for the first time in nearly 15 months!

  14. Who needs what?published at 12:41 British Summer Time 5 May 2019

Chelsea will clinch their Champions League place if they beat Watford AND Arsenal & Man Utd both fail to win.

Arsenal will be eliminated from CL contention if they lose against Brighton AND Chelsea win.

Manchester United will be eliminated from CL contention if they draw at Huddersfield AND Chelsea win (though goal difference means if both teams draw, United are most likely eliminated barring an eight-goal swing on the final day), or if they lose AND either Chelsea avoid defeat or Arsenal win. (Again, goal difference means it’s most likely over for United if they lose, whatever happens elsewhere).

    Got that?

We are under way in the Championship - the final day.

Chelsea legend and now Derby County boss Frank Lampard says reaching the play-offs would be one of his biggest achievements.

Qualification is in the Rams' hands and they will make the Championship's top six if they beat West Bromwich Albion.

But should Derby fail to win, a victory for Middlesbrough would put Tony Pulis' side sixth instead, while eighth-placed Bristol City could also still progress.

The Robins must beat Hull while hoping that Derby lose and Boro fail to win.

    Follow that live here.

For years now a place in the top four of the Premier League and the accompanying prestige and riches it brings has been the Holy Grail.

    Table

Suddenly, this season, all the big boys are stumbling over the finishing line. Tottenham joined the club yesterday, meaning that their grasp on third isn't yet concrete.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have another go at nailing down a top-four finish this afternoon.

They have lost eight of their last 15 collective games. What's the opposite of 'in-form?'
