    Neil McCann
Former Scotland and Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

The Rangers midfielders are peeling into the full-backs. They’re being followed and it’s opening up that channel straight into the strikers. They’re getting in there every single time. Aberdeen players need to forget and pass them on, hold position and stop them going through the heart

  3. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 64 mins

Rangers have doubled their lead with an impressive move... no! James Tavernier dinks the ball home but the celebrations are cut short on account of a flag for offside.

  5. Dons 'still in the game'published at 16:20

    Rangers 1-0 Aberdeen

    Neil McCann
Former Scotland and Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Steven Gerrard will want his team to up the tempo and make Dons work really hard to keep it at 1-0. Aberdeen are still in the game

  6. CLOSE!published at 57 mins

    Rangers 1-0 Aberdeen

Jermain Defoe's not having the best of afternoons. The striker has a chance from a few yards but can only send his effort over the bar with Joe Lewis stranded.

A second Rangers goal would effectively kill this as a contest.

  7. On the spotpublished at 16:17

    Rangers 1-0 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

There’s a little bit of contact but nothing much. I think it’s accidental but the referee’s got no doubts and points straight to the spot.

  9. 'I think Katic has played for it'published at 16:12

    Rangers 1-0 Aberdeen

    Neil McCann
Former Scotland and Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

It’s a beautiful spot kick form Tavernier - really composed. He sends Lewis the wrong way and almost passes it into the net. The contact [for the penalty] is minimal. Ferguson does catch Katic, there is contact, but watching it again Katic just drags his right foot into the grass and goes down. I think he's played for it.

  14. Premiership-trotting Moyes...published at 15:58

    HT: Rangers 0-0 Aberdeen

Former Manchester United and Everton manager David Moyes has been quite the Scottish Premiership scout this weekend.

Yesterday, he took in Celtic v Kilmarnock and St Mirren v St Johnstone.

Today, he's at Ibrox to see Rangers lock horns with Aberdeen. Wonder what he's saying to former Rangers boss Walter Smith? "How are the pies?"

You can’t fault Rangers too much. Their movement’s been terrific. Derek won’t be too unhappy. Joe Lewis has done his job making saves including that big save from Defoe which was exceptional.
