    Simon Stone

An amazing noise went round Anfield as news of Brighton's goal filtered through.

Now there is a rumble of noise as Liverpool's fans try to discover whether Manchester City have equalised.

    Amazing.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:29 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Leicester 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are knocking, but cannot break the door down.

Gonzalo Higuain spins on the edge of the box but drifts a shot just wide.

  3. goal

GOAL - Brighton 1-1 Manchester Citypublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Sergio Aguero (28 mins)

    The reaction of champions!

How long were City behind? A minute at most. Sergio Aguero stays on side to collect a slide-rule pass inside the area and he fires through the legs of Mat Ryan.

Football, football, football. May it never stop...

GOAL - Brighton 1-0 Manchester Citypublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Glenn Murray (27 mins)

    OH MY WORD!

Brighton do lead and this could be massive, massive, massive. I can't over egg this one. Pep Guardiola takes his cardigan off, that's how big it is.

Brighton whip in a corner to the near post, Glenn Murray gets there ahead of Ederson and nuts home.

  5. PHANTOM CHEERpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Liverpool 1-0 Wolves

One of the brilliant things about days like this is a phantom cheer. Anfield erupts in noise, a guy kisses the badge of a Brighton shirt he's wearing in the main stand. But there's no goal at Brighton.

    OH HANG ON

  6. Postpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Liverpool 1-0 Wolves

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

An easy save as it was a little dive to his left, but it was a great strike by Robertson.

  7. "No need for City to panic"published at 15:25 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Brighton 0-0 Man City

    Alan Shearer
    Match of the Day pundit

As expected, Brighton are putting plenty of men behind the ball, just as they did against City in the FA Cup semi-final.

No need for City to panic yet, though. They just need to remain patient, because there is plenty of time still to go.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:25 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Liverpool 1-0 Wolves

Lovely hit! Trent Alexander-Arnold finds Andy Robertson on the left, full-back to full-back, and the former M&S man drives in a beauty of a strike and Rui Patricio pushes it away.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Man Utd 0-1 Cardiff

Almost an immediate equaliser from Manchester United.

Teenager Mason Greenwood shows quick feet to move the ball onto his left peg and his low, deflected shot is tipped onto the post by Neil Etheridge's sharp reflexes.

  10. goal

GOAL - Crystal Palace 1-0 Bournemouthpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Michy Batshuayi (24 mins)

The hosts make the breakthrough in this end of season dead rubber.

Wilfried Zaha's cross takes a deflection and loops into the area, where Michy Batshuayi is on hand to hook home a volley.

Poor defending from Bournemouth, who had two players on Batshuayi but both just allowed him to get the shot off.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:23 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Brighton 0-0 Manchester City

David Silva has it. 'Hit it!' is the thought running through my head but he plays in Riyad Mahrez on the overlap instead and his cross/shot is palmed out by Mat Ryan. Brilliantly.

  14. Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Brighton 0-0 Manchester City

Pep Guardiola shifts uncomfortably from side to side in his seat. LOADS of time left, nothing to worry about just yet of course, his side remain steadfastly on top at the Amex.

But it's only human nature to feel a touch edgy surely...

    Liverpool 1-0 Wolves

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Republic of Ireland winger on Final Score

Very similar to the goal in the week against Barcelona. The ball is pulled back behind the defence, Sadio Mane is on the move, arrived late to score.

It looked like a tap in but it was wonderfully worked throughout.

    Liverpool 1-0 Wolves

    Mark Lawrenson

It’s a brilliant goal, all Mane had to do was stroke it past the goalkeeper. We hadn’t seen Robertson move forward, but Alexander-Arnold has had the run of the right wing since we started and I’m surprised Wolves hadn’t spotted that.

  20. Well, well, wellpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 12 May 2019

    Liverpool 1-0 Wolves

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Anfield

I can't say there is any discernable change in the atmosphere at Anfield as it was excellent anyway.

Jurgen Klopp is also remaining quite calm. Inside he must be churning though.
