    Aston Villa 0-1 West Brom

West Brom's best openings seem to be coming from Villa mistakes. Axel Tuanzebe is the guilty party this time, giving the ball away in his own half, but ultimately nothing comes of it.

Up the other end Tammy Abraham goes close for the hosts from a tight angle.

    It's delicately poised...

The players are back out for the second half, and the Baggies are making a change.

It's still not entirely clear what happened, but Dawson appeared to be unwell.

West Bromwich Albion have already won here once this season, and now it seems they're on course for another away victory.

Aston Villa have not looked nearly threatening enough since they went behind, but it's unimaginable that the well (and sometimes unfairly so) marshalled Jack Grealish will prove so ineffective again in the second half.

A bright start to the second half to uplift the home fans again and there could be plenty more drama in this one yet. This is the 2018-19 Championship after all!

Ex-Aston Villa & West Brom striker on BBC WM 95.6

Villa have had most of the play but Albion look penetrating when they get the ball on the counter.

Albion's game plan has been perfect, Villa aren't causing problems or moving the ball quickly enough and they need to get Jack Grealish further up the pitch.

The game plan from Albion was defend in numbers, keep it tight and if you get an opportunity, stick it away.

It's a tremendous finish and Dwight Gayle has done it all season. He's a top-class finisher in those situations.

Jamie Keeley: Villa will come through! The second half is the time for the Lions to roar!!

Kerohawk: Desperately frustrating half. We aren’t looking dangerous enough despite all the possession!

Christopher Phillips: WBA playing blunt ‘Steve Bruce’ football, but it’s proving effective. A few Villa players looking low on confidence - need Conor (Hourihane) second half...

Tim Lucas: Perfect away performance for West Brom. Nick a goal and then remain solid at the back. We need to up the tempo.
