One moment they're asking for a penalty and the next Mark O'Brien gets in a tangle with James Norwood in midfield and gets a second yellow.

It's certainly come to life now, but Tranmere are in the driving seat.

Jamille Matt is brought down in the area by Tranmere defender Manny Monthe but as the ball then fell to Mark O'Brien in an offside position, the flag went up and they escape.

Newport may feel hard done by. It was a definite foul, but the flag was up early.

If it feels that way in the press box, I can't imagine how Tranmere and Newport fans are coping.

We are now at the stage where legendary status can be earned.

David Perkins is the man cautioned for a fairly innocuous foul in the middle of the park.

We have 12 minutes left plus stoppage time (and possibly extra time).

These keepers have kept the most clean sheets in League Two this season, so perhaps the score shouldn't be a surprise.

Joe Day and Scott Davies have made one important each save so far.

It's a wonderful, teasing cross from Newport's Dan Butler and the Tranmere defence allow it to bounce, with Jamille Matt stooping at the far post - but his header is fantastically saved by Scott Davies.

He tips it onto the post, a great reaction stop.

Newport turn to the bench for the first time.

Joss Labadie somehow leaves the field without being booked, with Matt Dolan on to take his place.

Dolan scored the winning penalty in the semi-final against Mansfield - can he be the difference again?

First they have a penalty shout waved away by referee Ross Joyce, after a clumsy challenge by Newport defender Dan Butler.

Then Padraig Amond sees his shot fall to Connor Jennings, who gets crowded out before he can let fly.

After a brief drinks break Newport skipper Mark O'Brien is next to be yellow-carded after a series of fouls.

They defend the resulting set-piece, though.

Therefore this is the part of the afternoon I am duty-bound to announce that this game is likely to be settled by a moment of magic, of inspiration, or a horrible moment where someone, probably a goalkeeper or a defender, makes a mistake that costs their team everything.

That or penalties.

You have to be impressed with some of the defending from both sides.

Tranmere defenders are putting their bodies on the line, blocking almost every Newport effort.

And the Welsh side are doing well to keep James Norwood relatively quiet.
