  1. Postpublished at 90+4 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

Newport win a free-kick and sensibly opt to slow things down as they attempt to get the game to extra time.

It's all about seeing it out now for the Welsh side.

  2. CLOSE!published at 90+3 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

What a ball, what a run!

Tranmere's James Norwood is played in over the top by Ollie Banks and you'd back him to score, but on the stretch he can only prod the ball wide of Joe Day's goal.

  3. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90+1 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

Five minutes of stoppage time have been added on.

Can Tranmere end this before extra-time?

Newport County are down to 10 men!

One moment they're asking for a penalty and the next Mark O'Brien gets in a tangle with James Norwood in midfield and gets a second yellow.

It's certainly come to life now, but Tranmere are in the driving seat.

  5. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

    Defended expertly again by Tranmere.

It's looking very much like extra-time at Wembley.

  6. Postpublished at 88 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

Ollie Banks with a 'robust' challenge on Matt Dolan in midfield.

Newport to load the ball into the box.

  7. Postpublished at 86 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

    What's happened there?!

Jamille Matt is brought down in the area by Tranmere defender Manny Monthe but as the ball then fell to Mark O'Brien in an offside position, the flag went up and they escape.

Newport may feel hard done by. It was a definite foul, but the flag was up early.

  8. Postpublished at 84 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

An update on an earlier post...

Since the start of Newport's semi-final second leg with Mansfield, there have now been 76 shots on goal between them and their opponents without a goal.

    Find your shooting boots, boys!

  9. NERVOUS!published at 16:40 British Summer Time 25 May 2019

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

    This is now unbearably tense.

If it feels that way in the press box, I can't imagine how Tranmere and Newport fans are coping.

We are now at the stage where legendary status can be earned.

  10. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

    Tranmere corner.

And they've brought on big man Steve McNulty in time for it, with Kieron Morris coming off.

    Can they muster something?

  11. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

    It's almost clicking for Newport.

Jamille Matt takes the ball down and tries to find sub Matt Dolan, but it eventually falls to Padraig Amond, who can't quite generate the power on his shot to trouble Scott Davies.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 78 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

A third yellow card of the afternoon, and a first for Tranmere.

David Perkins is the man cautioned for a fairly innocuous foul in the middle of the park.

We have 12 minutes left plus stoppage time (and possibly extra time).

  13. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

These keepers have kept the most clean sheets in League Two this season, so perhaps the score shouldn't be a surprise.

Joe Day and Scott Davies have made one important each save so far.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 75 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

You can't come much closer than that!

It's a wonderful, teasing cross from Newport's Dan Butler and the Tranmere defence allow it to bounce, with Jamille Matt stooping at the far post - but his header is fantastically saved by Scott Davies.

He tips it onto the post, a great reaction stop.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

Newport turn to the bench for the first time.

Joss Labadie somehow leaves the field without being booked, with Matt Dolan on to take his place.

Dolan scored the winning penalty in the semi-final against Mansfield - can he be the difference again?

  16. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 70 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

    Are Tranmere turning the screw?

First they have a penalty shout waved away by referee Ross Joyce, after a clumsy challenge by Newport defender Dan Butler.

Then Padraig Amond sees his shot fall to Connor Jennings, who gets crowded out before he can let fly.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 68 mins

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

After a brief drinks break Newport skipper Mark O'Brien is next to be yellow-carded after a series of fouls.

They defend the resulting set-piece, though.

  18. A moment of quality or a mistakepublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 25 May 2019

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

    Michael Pearlman
BBC Sport Wales at Wembley Stadium

It is 0-0. An hour has passed. The stakes are very, very high.

Therefore this is the part of the afternoon I am duty-bound to announce that this game is likely to be settled by a moment of magic, of inspiration, or a horrible moment where someone, probably a goalkeeper or a defender, makes a mistake that costs their team everything.

    That or penalties.

    Newport 0-0 Tranmere

You have to be impressed with some of the defending from both sides.

Tranmere defenders are putting their bodies on the line, blocking almost every Newport effort.

And the Welsh side are doing well to keep James Norwood relatively quiet.
