    Newport v Tranmere (15:00 BST)

One of the big motivators for Newport today will be their former defender Fraser Franks, who was forced to retire in March, aged 28, because of a heart problem.

Franks captained the League Two side in their FA Cup victory over Leicester City this season, making 34 appearances in all this term.

Let's talk about famous fans as pertains to Rovers and County.

In the blue corner we have Tranmere Rovers, a team whose most famous supporter happens to be football's most theatrical referee, Mike Dean.

In the amber corner, Newport County are probably best associated with musical act Goldie Lookin Chain - you knows it - with several members of the band in attendance today.

County have also received well wishes from several local sport stars, such as ex-footballer Danny Gabbidon and sprinter Christian Malcolm.

Unfortunately, the most famous follower of both sides, John Aldridge, can't be here today.

As for the oddest fan story... Danny Holmes, a Tranmere fan since school, is in the Rovers end today. In 2015 his job was as a professional footballer... with Newport County.

    It's a funny old game.

    Newport v Tranmere (15:00 BST)

Michael Flynn was a Newport County player, in two different spells, culminating in being promoted before being released.

The 38-year-old returned as youth academy manager, but was sacked. He then became a coach, an assistant manager and then caretaker boss, before getting the full-time job.

Michael Pearlman has looked at how the would-be estate agent became a Newport legend.

However number-crunchers at the Euro Club Index give Newport a 55.3% chance of victory at Wembley - making them the strongest favourites to win promotion of the six competing teams.

What do we take from this? It's going to be close.

Chelsea's past and, quite possibly, future will be taking more than a passing interest in Monday's Championship play-off final between Aston Villa and Derby.

Frank Lampard and Jody Morris will be in the Rams dugout and John Terry an assistant coach to one of Villa's own, Dean Smith.

On the pitch, youngsters Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham could well have a decisive say, while the not-so-young Blues legend Ashley Cole is also likely to be thrust back into the limelight.

We've taken a look at how the management dynamic is working out, as well as some of the key protagonists.

Charlton Athletic and Sunderland meet in the League One play-off final on Sunday, a match-up which brings back memories of a Wembley classic.

The Addicks and the Black Cats shared eight goals on a sunny May day in 1998 in the Division One (second tier) play-off final, with Charlton striker Clive Mendonca scoring a hat-trick in a stunning 4-4 draw.

Penalties were needed after 120 minutes failed to separate the sides, and an epic shootout which went to sudden death unfolded in the shadow of the twin towers at the old national stadium.

We've spoken to some of the key protagonists from that very memorable day.

It's almost two weeks since television cameras captured Premier League referee Mike Dean standing on a barrier, leading the party, and punching the air in delight as his beloved Tranmere overcame Forest Green to reach today's final.

Surely he'll be at Wembley to cheer Rovers on and try to get himself trending on Twitter again.

I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the great man.

Well what a glorious day to make a bit of history for your football club. If you are a Newport or Tranmere fan, then things do not really get more exciting than the here and now. The sun is shining, the stakes could not be higher and both sets of supporters seem to be in high spirits and confident their side can come out on top.

Tranmere won just one of their last seven regular-season games but finished sixth in the table, a point behind semi-final opponents Forest Green.

A 1-0 home win in the first leg was to prove vital as Rovers got the draw they needed at The New Lawn to go through.

How important will their 32-goal striker James Norwood be to Tranmere's hopes of reaching League One?

Newport ended the League Two season with a 10-game unbeaten run to squeak into the final play-off spot.

Having drawn the home leg of their semi-final with Mansfield, they played out a goalless draw at Field Mill to take the tie to penalties - where goalkeeper Joe Day was the hero, saving Tyler Walker's penalty to take the Welsh side to Wembley.

Will Newport's FA Cup expertise stand them in good stead for this one-off winner-takes-all tie?
