  1. Rangers finishing with a flourishpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (15:00)

Rangers are the form team in the league right now with last weekend's Old Firm derby success a sixth straight victory for Steven Gerrard's men - their best run of the season.

The manager has made it clear that people are playing for places next term and the response has been impressive, with 14 goals scored and only one conceded in that sequence.

  2. Hearts saving themselves for final push?published at 14:45 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Celtic v Hearts (15:00)

Hearts have not won a game since they booked their place in the Scottish Cup final by swatting Inverness Caley aside at Hampden and Craig Levein's side have only picked up one point from their last six league games.

Not exactly great form going into such a big game but Levein has been rotating his squad, resting tired and injured bodies and giving youth a chance with his focus firmly on next weekend at the national stadium.

Levein said this week that influential trio Peter Haring, Ucke Ikpeazu and Arnaud Djoum are doubts for the final but would anyone be surprised to see all three lining up at Hampden?

  3. Emotional goodbyes for Hibs & Donspublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Hibernian v Aberdeen (15:00)

Skipper Graeme Shinnie is playing his last Aberdeen game before a move to Derby County, which is where on-loan Max Lowe is going back to, and there will be a couple of farewells for the hosts too.

Australia captain Mark Milligan is leaving after one season at Hibs and fellow midfielder Marvin Bartley is also offski, making the short move to Livingston.

Bartley has only made seven league starts in this campaign but is a hugely popular character after his four years of service. An enforcer, who screens the defence, Bartley has never scored. If the big man gets on today, expect cries of "shoot".

Hibs, guaranteed fifth place, will also be saying goodbye to a load of loan players - will any of them be back? Manager Paul Heckingbottom has made no secret of his desire to work with Marc McNulty and Stephane Omeonga again but admits it will be tough to pull off.

  4. 'What will be, will be' - Lennon on Celtic futurepublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Celtic v Hearts (15:00)

Speculation continues to circle around Neil Lennon's future at Celtic and whether the board will ask him to stay on as Brendan Rodgers replacement.

Lennon simply says: "I'm very, very focused on the job at hand. We've been planning all week for this game and for the cup final. That has just been my sole focus. What will be, will be. A decision will be made [after the cup final]. I haven't been told one way or another."

  5. Gerrard urges Rangers to 'keep going strong'published at 14:39 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (15:00)

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard tells RangersTV: "We want to finish the season on a high. We are going for the win.

"It will be an opportunity for people who have maybe been a little bit frustrated with a lack of game time in recent weeks.

"I expect a good performance, we want to keep going strong until the end. We want another three points."

  6. Clarke keeps his distancepublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (15:00)

Kilmarnock boss Steve Clarke is using his touchline ban to avoid pre-match interviews and duck questions about his future.

Will he have anything to say at full-time? We are expecting a public address to fans later on.

  7. 'A few niggles, strains and bruises' for Celticpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Celtic v Hearts (15:00)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon shines a light on his depleted starting XI and why a number of fringe players are starting in today's clash with Hearts: "In terms of Benkovic, Bitton and Sinclair - they haven't had much football of late," he tells BBC Sportsound. "So it's important that they get a game with next weekend in mind.

"There are a few niggles, strains and bruises. A few of them are carrying a few knocks and there's no point taking any risks before the cup final."

  8. 'Positive changes' for Rangerspublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (15:00)

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

Rangers are in a good place, really flying and looking forward to next season and the form couldn't be better coming into this on the back of an Old Firm victory. The five changes are good changes. They are having one look at Kilmarnock and thinking if they don't handle that central three they'll be in trouble. This going to be a hell of a game.

  9. 'I fancy Aberdeen'published at 14:31 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Quote Message

I fancy Aberdeen. They go into the game as favourites against Hibs. I would expect Kilmarnock to get something out of their game, but I'm not sure if it will be three points

  10. 'Hickey deserves start for Hearts'published at 14:29 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Celtic v Hearts (15:00)

Hearts manager Craig Levein tells BBC Sportsound he's giving players a rest "with the aim to get everyone fit and available for the Scottish Cup final next week".

"We've got to play the last game of the season, and it's a bit unusual but Neil's probably in the same position as me with a few players he's worried about fitness wise and it's been a long hard season so wanted to five some a rest the week before the cup final."

The sides meet again at Hampden on Saturday 25 May but Levein says that today's game is far from meaningless.

"We want to do well today," he explains. "It's a match that will give us some semblance, a watered down version of what might happen next week. We'll learn something from this game for sure but we want to do well for the fans."

The Tynecastle boss also commented on one of the youngsters being given a chance today, Aaron Hickey: "He's been doing really well in the reserve team, he's only 16, and doing particularly well in the full-back position. Probably the most two footed player I've ever worked with, very very difficult to tell if he's right or left footed and can play right or left-back or anywhere in the midfield. He's been doing particularly well so I thought he deserved a start today."

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (15:00)

On-loan goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann, who has voiced his desire to fight for his place at Watford next season despite reported interest from Rangers, is missing from the Kilmarnock squad and his place is taken by the experienced Jamie MacDonald.

Former Rangers centre-back Kirk Broadfoot returns in place of Alex Bruce after last week's 1-0 win over Aberdeen.

Veteran on-loan Southampton midfielder Steven Davis is absent, along with captain James Tavernier, from Rangers' squad ahead of his summer move to Ibrox on a permanent basis.

Alfredo Morelos returns up front in place of Jermain Defoe, with the on-loan Bournemouth veteran back on the bench despite his recent fine form.

With Nikola Katic and Scott Arfield given time off before international commitments with Croatia and Canada respectively, on-loan Joe Worrall is given a last outing before returning to Nottingham Forest, with Borna Barisic, Andy Halliday and Daniel Candeioas also starting.

Barisic will be at left back, with Jon Flanagan moving to his favoured right-back role.

Graham Dorrans could make his first appearance for eight months following injury as the Scotland midfielder is on the bench.

Karamoko Dembele is on the bench for Celtic for the first time.

With these sides meeting in next week's Scottish Cup Final, both have made major changes.

Champions Celtic make seven changes from the Old Firm defeat by Rangers, with Scott Brown, Callum McGregor, Tom Rogic, Jozo Simunovic, Mikael Lustig, Jonny Hayes and Odsonne Edouard dropping out. There are starting berths for Anthony Ralston, Filip Benkovic, Jeremy Toljan, Nir Bitton, Olivier Ntcham, Ewan Henderson and Scott Sinclair.

Boss Neil Lennon also names a youthful bench that includes 16-year-old Karamoko Dembele for the first time.

Hearts make a whopping nine changes from the defeat at Aberdeen, with regulars Christophe Berra, Oliver Bozanic, Bobby Burns, Steven MacLean and Harry Cochrane among those rested.

Youngsters Aaron Hickey, Craig Wighton, Andy Irving and Connor Smith start, with Jake Mulraney, Michael Smith, John Souttar, Olly Lee and goalkeeper Bobby Zlamal restored to the starting line-up.

  14. Cerny & McLennan start for Donspublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Hibernian v Aberdeen (15:00)

Hibernian make one change to their line-up following last week's loss at Kilmarnock with Daryl Horgan replacing the benched Florian Kamberi.

Vykintas Slivka and Steven Whittaker are among the home substitutes, having been absent in recent weeks.

Aberdeen make a change in goals with Tomas Cerny taking over from Joe Lewis who has not recovered from a knee injury.

Fit-again Connor McLennan replaces Greg Stewart in the Aberdeen line-up with the latter not in the squad. Gary Mackay-Steven, out of contract at the end of the season, is on the bench, having been out of action since early March.

  15. 'Maestro' McStay leads Celtic celebrationspublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Celtic v Hearts (15:00)

Celtic hero Paul McStay is doing the honours with the Premiership trophy today.

The former skipper will bring the silverware into the stadium and lead the team out before reappearing with the main prize for the on-pitch presentation.

Only the late Billy McNeill played more games for Celtic than the man known as Maestro.

  16. Clarke to say Kilmarnock cheerios?published at 14:13 British Summer Time 19 May 2019

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (15:00)

Is today Steve Clarke's last match in charge at Kilmarnock? The home fans will certainly hope not since he has transformed the club since arriving in October 2017.

The 55-year-old has a year to run on his contract but is the red hot favourite to succeed Alex McLeish as Scotland head coach.

The Scottish FA are eager to make an appointment quickly, with Euro 2020 qualifiers with Cyprus and Belgium to come in early June.

If it is to be goodbye, will he need to do his waving from the stand? He starts a two-game touchline ban for comments made about referee Steven McLean. Would that suspension follow him for his international debut if he does get the Scotland job?

Earlier today, it was confirmed that Dedryck Boyata is to join Hertha Berlin once his Celtic contract expires.

The 28-year-old Belgium defender is currently recovering from an injury but should be fit enough to join in the celebrations once the Premiership trophy is presented after the game.

He has been a league winner in all four of his seasons in Scotland since leaving Manchester City.
