Rúben Dias hooks a dangerous ball away from danger despite the attention of two Netherlands players.

We're heading into a tense final 20 minutes for the hosts. The Netherlands have their tails up.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 66 mins

    Portugal 1-0 Netherlands

    BIG save!

The Netherlands have not let that goal disrupt their momentum too much and they really should be level but Rui Patrício somehow stops Memphis Depay's downward header from a cross on the line.

    Breathless stuff now.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 62 mins

    Portugal 1-0 Netherlands

What will that goal do to the Netherlands' momentum? They looked so much more lively than in the first half. They'd also just made their second change of the game right before Portugal's goal with Donny van de Beek replacing Steven Bergwijn.

    Gonçalo Guedes

    What a strike!

Brilliant work from Bernardo Silva as he bamboozles the Netherlands defence with a neat flick back into the path of Gonçalo Guedes, who absolutely powers home a rifle of a shot from the edge of the area. The keeper looked to have got a hand to it, but it was far too powerful.

The stadium erupts. The hosts are ahead.

    Portugal 0-0 Netherlands

Rui Patrício is making up for a first half devoid of action as he saves from Memphis Depay. The corner is cleared and Portugal break quickly but Steven Bergwijn gets a crucial challenge in on Gonçalo Guedes.

    End to end now!

  9. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Portugal 0-0 Netherlands

Portugal have suddenly come alive now and they are winning corner after corner.

Again, though, it comes to nothing following a breakdown in communication between Bruno Fernandes and Gonçalo Guedes.

The hosts need to do better with these set pieces.

  10. CLOSE!published at 53 mins

    Portugal 0-0 Netherlands

Great persistence by Cristiano Ronaldo as he keeps the ball alive as Portugal break quickly. He plays the ball into the box for Rúben Dias but his cross is put behind for another corner.

Bernardo Silva's flick on is headed behind by Marten de Roon and Jose Fonte almost gets his head to the resulting corner but Jasper Cillessen just about gathers.

Lively start to the second half!

    Portugal 0-0 Netherlands

Memphis Depay slips in Georginio Wijnaldum, he looks offside but the flag stays down. Wijnaldum charges towards goal and attempts to lift the ball over Rui Patrício but the Portugal goalkeeper gets a hand to it.

Now the flag goes up for offside.Wijnaldum is probably relieved it would not have counted.

  12. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Portugal 0-0 Netherlands

Now Steven Bergwijn is in on the left side of the box but his attempt to find someone in the middle is snuffed out by Jose Fonte.

  13. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Portugal 0-0 Netherlands

Solid start by the Netherlands as Memphis Depay almost gets away but he just can't quite get the ball under control.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Portugal 0-0 Netherlands

Genuinely did not realise Ryan Babel had been on the pitch in the first half.

He's not anymore as Quincy Promes is on in his place for the second half. The Netherlands certainly needed to do something.

    Back under way.

Plenty of possession for the Netherlands but very little of it where it really counts. They had just four touches inside the Portugal box.

    The Dutch have a corner!

Daley Blind swings the ball in, Van Dijk the target, but the ball is headed clear and Portugal break again through Rúben Dias. He finds Nélson Semedo, whose shot deflects off Van Dijk for another Portugal corner...
