Can the Netherlands hold on until half time? They are struggling a bit at the moment.

When you see the pace that Portugal break at it is understandable why Netherlands are keeping players back.

Once again Portugal charge up the pitch after the visitors lose possession, Bernardo Silva finding Nelson Semedo on the right side of the box, but his ball into the area is way beyond Cristiano Ronaldo.

Soon after, Bruno Fernandes lashes an effort over. The hosts are edging that bit closer to the opener.

Just two of the Netherlands' 11 goals in the Uefa Nations League have been scored in the first half. They definitely appear to be taking a cautious approach as they are not committing many players to support their rare attacks.

Cristiano Ronaldo powers a header at goal from Raphael Guerreiro's whipped ball in. It is straight at Jasper Cillessen, but the flag was up for offside anyway.

A chance for Portugal from a corner. Its a free header for Jose Fonte but he doesn't connect with it well and its an easy catch for Jasper Cillessen. Looks like the whistle had gone for a foul in the box anyway.

Netherlands, for all their possession, haven't managed a shot on or off target yet.

Virgil van Dijk and Matthijs de Ligt swap defending for attacking as the saunter up into the Portugal box for a free-kick. Neither can get their head on the ball in, though.

Cristiano Ronaldo is being given license to operate anywhere in that final third but he's not really seen much of the ball in the places where he can potentially hurt the Netherlands. The visitors' defence is marshaling him pretty well so far.

Cristiano Ronaldo fizzes the ball across the face of goal but is left frustrated as he has no Portugal team-mates up in support. The hosts keep the ball in play and begin another attack.

A mistake in midfield gives Memphis Depay the chance to run at the Portugal defence. He gets to just outside the area but can't get past Ruben Dias, who sticks a vital foot in to clear the ball. Miss that and Depay was in on goal.

Good start by Portugal. Netherlands have dominated possession as expected but Portugal have looked the most dangerous when they have had the ball.

Ooh, almost for Portugal.

The corner is played short to Bruno Fernandes, who spots William Carvalho inside the area but his cross-shot whistles just past Carvalho's head and into Jasper Cillessen's hands.

Chance now for Cristiano Ronaldo to make some thing happen. He gets the ball with his back to goal, turns and runs across the pitch before playing in Bruno Fernandes but his cross is deflected behind for a corner.

Wasted opportunity for Portugal as they break in numbers.

There's gaps in the Netherlands defence as they struggle to get organised but the visitors breathe a sigh of relief as Bruno Fernandes swipes a wild effort wide from miles out. He'd have been better off taking the ball further up the pitch.

Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't seen much of the ball yet. He's playing in the middle of Portugal's front three and often has the formidable duo of Matthijs de Ligt and Virgil van Dijk for company.

John: Number 3 & number 4 for Holland would frighten the Bejeepers out of most but that lad wearing 7 for Portugal doesn’t have Bejeepers to be frightened out of him!

Boos ring out around the stadium as Bernardo Silva tumbles inside the area under the attention of Virgil van Dijk and Daley Blind as he chases a punt into the box. The referee isn't interested and rightly so, went down under minimal contact there.
