The ball drops for half-time DRC sub Elia Meschak about 20 yards out. He decides not to shoot initially but 10 seconds later when he has the ball back, he decides to go for glory, but his shot is saved.

Trezeguet is so good - although not as good as the French one yet. He shows some good skill down the left and finds Mohamed Salah - whose shot is blocked.

Suspect we'll see Trezeguet in one of the big European leagues in the next couple of years.

This will be a pretty late one for Egypt fans. The game doesn't end until almost midnight local time on a Wednesday night.

Mohamed Salah finds Trezeguet, who almost gets a shot away on the edge of the box, but is denied by good defending.

Elia Meschak, who started the first game, is on for veteran Tresor Mputu, who took some good corners and free-kicks in the opening half.

I'm 35 years old and have only ever heard the word 'indomitable' used in Cameroon's nickname of the Indomitable Lions.

One area African football leads the way is in team nicknames. Pretty much every country has an animal nickname.

In Europe teams are left with nicknames like 'Les Bleus', 'The Boys in Green' or the worst, 'Die Mannschaft' which literally means 'the team' in German.

A win would take Egypt into the last 16, along with Nigeria who qualified earlier.

DR Congo would be left needing to beat Zimbabwe in the final game - and hope for other results to go their way in various groups.

    Mohamed Salah

Brilliant play by Trezeguet to set up Egypt's second for Mohamed Salah.

Trezeguet runs from his own half - nutmegging Jacques Maghoma on the way - and plays a perfect ball to Salah. The Egypt star cuts onto his left foot and then rifles a shot past the keeper at his near post when he was expecting a curler towards the other side.

Trezeguet's real name is Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan but he took his nickname from former France and Juventus striker David Trezeguet.

The 24-year-old plays in Turkey with Kasimpasa.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 40 mins

DR Congo hit the crossbar for a second time as Antwerp striker Jonathan Bolingi heads onto the crossbar from eight yards out. It was a good header under pressure. Unlucky.

Good move by Egypt almost. Mohamed Salah finds Marwan Mohsen, who plays the ball to Abdallah el Said.

El Said tries to pick out Salah at the back post but overhits the cross.

  18. Postpublished at 35 mins

Good defending by DR Congo captain Marcel Tisserand, who has plenty of Ligue 1 and Bundesliga experience, to hold off the run of Mohamed Salah.

  19. Postpublished at 34 mins

Tresor Mputu crosses instead of shooting, but it's a glorious delivery and the diving, stretching Marcel Tisserand is inches away from turning it home at the back post.
