Yitbareck Zewde: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a mistake by starting with Daniel James. Give him time to integrate himself to the team gradually just like Sir Alex did to Ronaldo. Don't make him lose his confidence.

Dr David: United have started the last few seasons well, let’s not get too excited just yet. A couple of good results and motivated new players will only paper over the deep-rooted cracks at this club.

And Adama Traore is the man to come on. His pace is going to give United's defence a massively different test. Matt Doherty is the man to come off, with Traore replacing him at right wing-back.

Traore versus Luke Shaw is going to be one of the main battles of this second half.

It looks like Wolves are making a change at half-time.

Adama Traore is stripped and going through a strenuous warm-up.

He is the home side's speedster, although his final ball doesn't match his pace sometimes.

Kyle: Manchester United look really good so far. So comfortable at the back Maguire and Wan-Bissaka have settled in brilliantly. The front four look excellent and have bags of pace. Wolves could get picked off at will in the second half if they aren't careful.

PJ: Good first half performance by the lads! Controlling the game n showing some really good signs going forward!

There could well have been a few United players in contention if the team was picked tonight.

    And here's another stat...

Since 2003-04 (when this data was first available) no Premier League match has seen fewer first-half shots than the three produced so far at Molineux.

Fewest since Liverpool v Man City at Anfield last season (also three).

Only three shots, but it was much more enjoyable than that stat suggests.

  8. Shot-shy Wolvespublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 19 August 2019

    Wolves 0-1 Manchester United

Wolves did not have a shot on target in the first half, meaning they've only managed two in 135 minutes of Premier League football so far this season.

    Wolves 0-1 Manchester United

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Horrific from Ryan Bennett. Martial prods the ball out of Willy Boly's path but then treads on it - he could have given them a 2-0 lead.

United absolutely the dominant team. They have been water-tight at the back and thoroighly deserve their 1-0 lead.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 19 August 2019

Manchester United go in with a very deserved half-time lead.

Ryan Bennett is a lucky lad. He gives it away to Anthony Martial, who skips past Willy Boly, but then stands on the ball just when he was getting into a shooting position.

Gareth Southgate is at Molineux and will be liking what he has seen from Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The defender slides in on Diogo Jota, a beautiful sliding challenge to wipe out any potential Wolves chance.

Ebenezer Anagfio: Let's remind ourselves. 1-0 is not enough. Last season we lost 2-1 in the FA Cup and 2-1 in the EPL to Wolves. We scored first in each game

Michal Koziol: I have to say, 50m quid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka seems like way too small a price. This boy will be a Man Utd legend.

  17. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Manchester United

Anthony Martial is found by Daniel James, with the Frenchman taking a great touch to bring it under control, but once again some rather desperate defending from Wolves just about does enough.

Wolves have offered very little as an attacking force today and only some good, last-ditch defending has restricted United to just the one goal so far.

  18. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Manchester United

Paul Pogba and Joao Moutinho have a tangle of legs, but both men are trying to win the ball. There was a very quick VAR check to see if there had been a serious foul, there hadn't and we continue.

  19. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Wolves 0-1 Manchester United

The Rashford-Martial link-up is proving to be a very successful one and nearly leads to another chance.

An intelligent dinked ball over the top from Rashford so nearly finds the goalscorer, but a diving header from Willy Boly just about averts the danger. Wolves hanging on a bit here.

David Freedman: Wan Bissaka is outstanding. What a great addition to United.
