That just fizzes past the post from Kevin de Bruyne - he hits it so well. Man City have been comfortable here so far.

Manchester City chances since the opener have been surprisingly scarce. Riyad Mahrez has come closest to adding a second but his tame effort is straight at Mat Ryan.

  9. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 1-0 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 19 mins

    Tammy Abraham

Ah Blades keeper Dean Henderson won't want to see this again.

Ross Barkley starts a fine move with a drag back in midfield, the ball goes out wide and comes back in. Tammy Abraham heads down but it's half pass, half effort on goal.

Henderson pats it down, collides with Christian Pulisic and loses the ball, allowing Abraham to swivel and fire home.

Was there a foul in there somewhere?

It's Jamie Vardy at his best. Ball over the top, Vardy on to it - one bounce, good touch, away he goes and lobs it over the keeper.

  16. Postpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

Brighton will be disappointed to have conceded so early because since then they've actually done OK and have even had a chance of their own, with Dan Burn finding space down the left but his low ball is too close to the keeper.

  17. goal

GOAL - Leicester City 1-0 Bournemouthpublished at 12 mins

    Jamie Vardy

    That is some goal!

Ruhtlessly efficient. Eddie Howe will be tearing his hair out as Leicester make this look so easy. Ben Chilwell channels the ball from his own box, smashed long for Jamie Vardy to chase.

Chase it he does, Bournemouth keeper Aaron Ramsdale is well off his line and Vardy beats him with a peach of a first-time lob. Must have been 25 yards out when he looped it home.
