    Bournemouth

Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson on VAR clearing Youri Tielemans' tackle on him: "He missed the ball and went over the top and went on to my ankle. If it's not clear and obvious then I don't know what is.

"I'd like to watch back and see why it wasn't [a red]. He went straight over the top and on my shin. He almost broke my ankle.

    "It warranted a card."

Blades boss Chris Wilder to BBC Sport: "We have celebrated, we have come to a historic football club and gone toe-to-toe with them.

"After being 2-0 down a point is a great result for us. We had two bad mistakes for their goals but that shows you what the character in this team is like.

"Chelsea have world class players at the top of the pitch but our shape was good. We just wanted to play how we play in the second half.

"We have talked about games like this. In periods we haven't believed in ourselves enough, but when we have shown confidence and a bit of a strut, we have shown that we are here to compete."

With Manchester City's win it is over to Liverpool to try and maintain their 100% record and return to the top of the table.

It won't be easy at Burnley, however, who have the in-form Ashley Barnes leading the line. The striker is looking for his fifth goal in four games.

  4. Howe: 'We didn't do our jobs'published at 17:26 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Leicester 3-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "There were bits in the first half we were pleased with. The goals killed us - from the first to the third. We've gifted them goals. It gave us a mountain to climb.

"I had a good view of the Tielemans challenge on Callum Wilson - it looked a bad one.

"Those moments do have a bearing on the result. Not the referee's fault we conceded three.

"The last two games we conceded three apiece. Against Manchester City it's going to be difficult but today we didn't do our jobs."

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Aston Villa

Crystal Palace goalscorer Jordan Ayew: "We played very well and deserved the victory. We did the basics right and were rewarded at the end. It’s difficult for us to win games at home but today we did and we have to take one step at a time."

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers: "There's a long long way to go. It's been a very good start for us. They've been working hard - third game of the week.

"I'm so, so proud of them. They gave so much - against a very good side.

"We were worthy winners I felt.

"Vardy is a top-class striker. From the day I walked though the door he's been amazing - it was a difficult goal today - on the bounce, his connection and finish."

On the Youri Tielemans challenge on Callum Wilson, which was cleared by VAR: "There were two challenges in the game. The young midfielder [Jefferson Lerma] for Bournemouth caught Jonny Evans over the top - not intentional.

"Same with Youri Tielemans. When you slow them down they look worse than they are."

  7. 'We should win the game'published at 17:23 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Chelsea 2-2 Sheffield United

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard: "It was under control, it is our fault for gifting them a goal in the first minute of the second half. It's a similar story already.

"The game should have been comfortable and we have dropped two points. We want to win games, the emergence of youth is one thing but winning games is another. When you are 2-0 up at half-time you should win the game.

"We had more than enough on the pitch to win that game from 2-0 up. There is no chance that that game should swing like that. We gave them the possibility to hurt us.

"Tammy Abraham is doing well, his all-round game was great and he needs to continue."

    West Ham United

West Ham goalscorer Sebastien Haller: "I’m a striker and it’s really important to get confidence and score goals. The Premier league is not easy, it is quite tough and intense. I try and adapt and do everything to get good information. It is really good for our confidence going into the international break with a win."

On his penalty claim: "For me of course it's a penalty - he touched me."

    Leicester 3-1 Bournemouth

    Leicester City

Leicester goalscorer Jamie Vardy: "Training is hard but made as enjoyable as possible. We can have a laugh and a joke as long as we put the hard work in.

"You can see the work Brendan Rodgers has put on the training field - we are getting more numbers further up the field.

"We've seen goals like that - ball over the top. The keeper comes of the line and stops. There's only one place to put it."

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder: "It's a great result for us. Put it into perspective, three years ago we were bottom of League One and now we have come away from Chelsea with a result.

"We gave away really poor goals. You can't give teams like Chelsea a two-goal start and think everthing is ok. Dean Henderson should have done better for the first goal but he's made a great save to keep us in it.

"I believe in the players more than they do sometimes, we've gone toe to toe with a really good side. I am biased but I believe we deserve something from today.

"It's been a great start, we can enjoy a night out tonight. We are here to compete, we are not day trippers getting autographs and collecting shirts."

    Man City 4-0 Brighton

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "We started well. We give a lot of credit to the Brighton for what they did. They had chances but we were more clinical than we were in the Tottenham game. They defend so well.

"The difference was the quality of the players. Sometimes we credit the manager for success and sometimes it is the quality of the players and today is proof of that."

On Kevin de Bruyne: "Last season he struggled with his physical condition and injuries but we are happy now. He is a player who always gives you vision."

On Laporte's injury: "I don't know right now."

  13. 'I'm very proud'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Man City 4-0 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Graham Potter, speaking to MOTD: "We tried to play out from the back and of course they pressure very, very well. We tried to press but again it is not so easy against Manchester City.

"The boys were full of courage, brave, the effort was there. They just lacked that clinical finishing in the final third. We just have to try to be ourselves and play with a style that suits ourselves. No matter what you do here it is difficult.

"You need those moments (Trossard's miss) to go your way. In the end we got what we got but in terms of performance I am very proud.

  14. 'We were clinical'published at 17:09 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Man City 4-0 Brighton

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to MOTD: "The difference was the quality of players Manchester City has. They were clinical. The players made the game plan very, very well.

"I love to see opposite teams play that way - that have that courage. They had chances to score as well but we were clinical. Against Tottenham we were not clinical.

"I am happy from day one (with Aguero). He has incredible talent and his commitment to the team is fantastic. We have two incredible strikers with him and Gabriel Jesus."

It’s Sheffield United’s travelling fans who are singing loudest at the Bridge, they couldn’t have seen this comeback coming after an error strewn first period saw them two down. Chelsea fans are somewhat philosophical as they trooped past the press box.

An 18-year-old midfielder, Billy Gilmour came on for his debut as they tried to see this game out, while two-goal Tammy Abraham was withdrawn. It certainly feels like a new era, and this is going to be part of the journey for fans in blue.

Sheffield United forward Callum Robinson: "At half-time the gaffer just told us to believe a bit more. Coming to Stamford Bridge after just coming up, it was all new to us but we have to believe, that's what the gaffer said. We have proved we can play agaiunst the best.

"I missed a chance at a crucial time to make it 1-1 but we stick together. Chelsea have players with a huge amount of ability but we dug in, pressed them when we had to do and to a man we worked hard for each other."
