    Mike Flynn and his Newport players will be encouraged by that first half - the home fans at Rodney Parade certainly are.

    The Exiles gave West Ham a pretty torrid working over at times in that opening 45 minutes but ultimately were punished for one lapse of concentration from Kyle Howkins.

    His error allowed Jack Wilshere through to score his first goal for West Ham and his first for anyone since January 2018.
