Che Adams drives to the edge of the box but Steve Cook is in the way of his strike. Sofiane Boufal then has an effort blocked by Jefferson Lerma.

Southampton are edging to an equaliser though. The intensity has picked up too!

The ball comes across to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on the left side of the box but his shot is blocked by Jack Stacey.

Moments later, Aaron Ramsdale's clearance goes straight to Southampton but the move breaks down when Nathan Redmond's cross flashes past the six-yard area.

That disallowed goal sparks a bit of intensity from Southampton, spurred on by Oriol Romeu in midfield.

The Spaniard continues his run, overlapping James Ward-Prowse on the right but the midfielder chooses to shoot himself - firing it way over the bar.

The referee should be miced up like in rugby.

Few groans around St. Mary's as Southampton lack the intensity that is meant to be their trademark under Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg drives through the centre and ends up running into Jefferson Lerma. It falls for Che Adams but his through ball to James Ward-Prowse won't get there.

Moments later, Sofiane Boufal drills it straight into the arms of Aaron Ramsdale.

Joshua King goes sprinting down the left and Saints defender Jannik Vestergaard can't keep up with him.

King holds it up and waits before slipping it through to Callum Wilson in the box but Vestergaard recovers to stab it away.

Sofiane Boufal slips a nice ball through to Cedric Soares on the left - he moves it forward, looking for Nathan Redmond.
