  1. 'We can't complain'published at 14:55 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Leicester 2-1 Tottenham Hostpur

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino on BBC Sport: "We dominated the game and we deserved more but that is football. It can change quick. We need to keep working. We have a lot of games coming and we need to be ready.

"I know when talk. I am always talking about sometimes it (VAR) benefits you and sometimes agaInst you. That is football. After you can't complain. You have to accept it.

"It is so early to start talking. Today, we were the better side but I hope they have a very good season. I admire Brendan Rodgers and wish them the best."

  3. 'Both sides affected by VAR'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    FT: Leicester 2-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BT Sport: "That is football. It is true to concede two goals every game makes it difficult to win. Before we concede we were the best side. I am disappointed with the result but we have to keep working hard.

"Both sides are affected by this situation (VAR decision to rule out Aurier goal). If we score the second the game is over. It gives belief to a team that could have been dead. After we concede at 1-1 we had chances to score the second. But in Premier League it is the most beautiful league because it is never over. In the big picture, I am disappointed but very positive and optimistic.

"We need to improve our performance away from home. We are going to work hard and improve."

  4. 'Extremely well-run club'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Burnley v Norwich (15:00 BST)

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on Football Focus

The Burnley training ground is incredible and Sean Dyche has had a huge impact on that. He gives the credit to his staff though and it’s all about us rather than about him.

It's an extremely well-run club now - they're hungry for more results and look set up to make a good impact this season.

  5. 'More points for both teams than last year'published at 14:51 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Newcastle v Brighton (17:30 BST)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

A match to remind us how quickly things change.

Just 11 months ago this fixture pitched Rafael Benitez against Chris Hughton, with much local goodwill given to both - until Brighton went home with the points.

Judgement on their replacements might be reserved, but it's maybe worth noting that Newcastle have one more point now than after TEN games last year - despite having already faced three of the 'big six'. Brighton? Same again after five games - won one, drawn two, lost two.

The only previous meeting of Steve Bruce and Graham Potter came even more recently -Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 Swansea in February.

Different clubs, different league, different pressures now - particularly for Bruce to get his first home win. Quickly.

Lee, London: You can't compare minimal offside decisions to balls crossing the line, as the former has to interpret the advantage while the latter is absolute. What advantage does a millimetre of a shoulder give to scoring a goal?

Zed, London: Silly comment. You cannot compare technology which checks whether the ball is over something which doesn't move (the goal line), with a decision where players are not only moving but relative to a human decision of the EXACT moment the ball left the foot of the passer! Totally. Different.

Everton v Sheffield United (15:00 BST)

    Will Perry
    BBC Radio 5 live presenter

There’s a mixture of frustration and excitement around Everton at the moment. They are on a six-game winning streak at Goodison Park though and they clearly enjoy their home comforts.

Sheffield United’s form on the road has been good so far, winning at Bournemouth and coming back for a draw at Chelsea.

I wonder if there is a script line for Phil Jagielka on his return to Everton as well...

  9. 'Forensic' Guardiolapublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

Man City v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Ian Dennis
Radio 5 live senior football reporter

Man City don’t really lose games. Pep Guardiola is so forensic in his detail that when they suffer defeat, I think he does take it personally.

No manager likes losing but he experiences it on fewer occasions than everyone else. He will worked even harder this week to put right what went wrong last Saturday.

  10. 'It works for you and against you"published at 14:48 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    FT: Leicester 2-1 Tottenham

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers on BT Sport: "It's what happens with VAR, you have to get your head round it. It works for you and against you. Worked both ways for us today.

"We spoke with the players in pre season about VAR. You have to deal with it, sometimes for you and against you. Have to accept it and move on. It was a very important three points.

"James Maddison didn't have his best game for him, but he is a top level player. He is a top young player, with so much improvement to make. He always has an eye for goal.

"A brilliant team performance. Very early days, we have had a tough start. We will get into the New Year and see where we are February, March."

  11. Watford need 21.5 attempts to scorepublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

Man City v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Watford have not done any shooting practice as part of their warm-up yet, but they could certainly do with it.

Only Manchester City (102) and Liverpool (91) had more efforts on goal in their first five Premier League games than the Hornets (86) but when it comes to finding the back of the net, the stats tell a different story.

While City and Liverpool both average around a goal every six attempts, Watford’s average is one from every 21.5 attempts - the worst shots-to-goals ratio in the top flight this season.

Watford did manage 31 shots against Arsenal last week of course, but you would have to be a very optimistic Hornets fan to think they are going to manage a similar tally today.

  12. 'No panic at City'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

Man City v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Tony Pulis
Former Stoke and West Brom manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don’t think Pep Guardiola will panic at all about last week's defeat at Norwich.

Man City have got top players all over their squad and that result will probably just give them extra motivation.

I’m not sure it’s a good time for Watford to go there and play them.

  13. 'Breath of fresh air'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

    Burnley v Norwich (15:00 BST)

    Kevin Nolan
Former West Ham captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

Norwich have got some lovely link-up players. They work so hard for each other and Teemu Pukki is much quicker than I expected him to be. He’s proven that he can handle himself at this level. Daniel Farke has given his squad the belief and they’ll stick to it. At this moment in time, they’ve been a breath of fresh air.

    Leicester 2-1 Tottenham

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Republic of Ireland winger on Final Score

There are problems at Spurs that's obvious to see but take nothing away from Leicester. They got themselves back into the game, they pushed on and used that VAR decision to their advantage. James Maddison is a player who is getting better and better.

Sammy Arora: People complaining about VAR being too accurate but no one complains about extremely tight goal line technology decisions? How can we say it’s ‘too accurate'?

Andy Rudd: The problem with VAR continues to be how it is applied, would anyone genuinely complain if the Spurs goal and 2 City goals had been given? Why are they making controversy unnecessarily?

  20. 'Statistically better'published at 14:41 British Summer Time 21 September 2019

Man City v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Ian Dennis
Radio 5 live senior football reporter

Fernandinho has played four times with Nicolas Otamendi and they have won four out of four together, conceding three goals. Statistically, they're better than Otamendi and John Stones.

They were not really tested in midweek at Shakhtar either so it was comfortable for them.

Aymeric Laporte is a creative defender so actually having Fernandinho in it’s probably more of a like-for-like replacement than John Stones.
