  1. CLOSE!published at 21:07 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Germany

Northern Ireland have turned this around! Brilliant from sub Gavin Whyte, who skins his man on the right and finds Stuart Dallas inside him, he drives in low looking for the far corner...and he's so close to it as well.

    Eeeeesh.

I think there's contact on Paddy McNair's right shin. He leaves a leg dangling.

  3. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Germany

Drama! Northern Ireland want a penalty and I thought that the referee was going to give it - at the last minute he changes his mind!

That Marcel Halstenberg strike and the complete German domination of this second half so far has understandably dampened the atmosphere inside the stadium, the raucous noise of the first half no longer apparent.

Things are a lot more subdued but the fans are still trying to exhort their team to greater efforts with occasional bursts of their favourite repertoire of songs.

For now it's the small band of German supporters who are starting to make themselves heard, but still a long way to go.

We're stuck, we meed to get hold of the ball. When we get possession we're trying to take a breath. Sometimes you have to hang in there and hope you get it through it.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Germany

Northern Ireland need a lift and they will hope it comes from Gavin Whyte - he's on in place of Niall McGinn.

Just over half an hour left.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:00 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Germany

If Jogi Low could bottle his half-time team talk tonight he'd make (even more of) a fortune! Germany are unrecognisable. Bailey Peacock-Farrell is having a game of the ages in nets for NI now, diving to his right to keep out a Marco Reus free-kick.

Germany could quite easily have had five since the restart.

I think Belgium may have declared at the break.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Wales 1-0 Belarus

Wales aren't short of young men who can hit a ball these days and Harry Wilson whips in a cross/shot from the right which comes back off the inside of the post and away!

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:57 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Germany

Almost another goal for the visitors, who suddenly look like one of the best sides in Europe again. Another flowing move ends with Julian Brandt finding the side-netting.

As it stands both sides have 12 points, with Germany top on goal difference.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell then makes another superb save to keep out Timo Werner!

  11. The Germans have upped the tempopublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Germany

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

It flew into the top corner. Bailey Peacock-Farrell had absolutely no chance. It could have easily ended up in the back of the stand but unfortunately it flew into the top corner.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:54 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Germany

Germany look a different side. All over their hosts now as again it ends up with a wing-back - Lukas Klostermann fires over.

GOAL - Northern Ireland 0-1 Germanypublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Marcel Halstenberg (48 mins)

    Warning not heeded.

A fabulous strike to finally open the scoring and silence Belfast. A cross from the right comes all the way through to wing-back Marcel Halstenberg, who takes the shot on on the bounce, and flashes it into the far corner.

    Woooof.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:51 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Germany

How is this 0-0? Could easily be 2-2 by now. A flowing Germany move ends with Lukas Klostermann at the back post and it's well saved by Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

    A warning.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Wales 1-0 Belarus

Good news for Belarus - Daniel James has come off.

Bad news for Belarus - Gareth Bale has replaced him.

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

Very efficient restart from Wales. Away!

  19. Postpublished at 20:44 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Scotland 0-3 Belgium

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland

A few boos ring round the stadium as the referee brings the first half to an end but most probably acknowledge they are witnessing something special here. It perhaps hasn’t been vintage Belgium but they are still streets ahead of the Scots.

Few would have expected this to be a contest but Steve Clarke has a job on his hands to make sure it doesn’t become an annihilation.

  20. 'Everything but a goal'published at 20:43 British Summer Time 9 September 2019

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Germany

    Richard Petrie
BBC Sport NI at Windsor Park

A pulsating first half at Windsor Park comes to an end and the fans are left wondering how it remains goal-less at the break as they head for their half-time refreshments.

Northern Ireland have more than held their own in every facet of play and have had the best two chances of the game - both falling to Conor Washington.

It's been breathless, high tempo, high energy stuff on the pitch...and in the stands too as the home fans have created an electric atmosphere, vociferous in their support for the men in green from first whistle to last..roaring on their team and booing the Germans any time they pick up possession.

Michael O'Neill's men have had the visitors seriously under the cosh for periods, attacking with vigour but keeping their shape and defending as if their lives depended on it when necessary.

What does the second half have in store?
