Scenes in Lithuania. Cristiano Ronaldo has just scored his FOURTH of the night. The second, which was given as an own goal, has now been given back to the Juventus man.

They lead 4-1 now. For anyone keeping note that's Ronaldo's 93rd international goal.

    England 5-3 Kosovo

It's basketball! Kosovo come forwards on the hunt for a fourth, it's cleared and England's front three are in business again.

Jadon Sancho finds Raheem Sterling, whose shot is deflected a yard wide!

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 73 mins

    England 5-3 Kosovo

Ah it's nearly a sixth! Harry Kane wins the ball back, plays in Raheem Sterling on the left of the area and he tries to clip it home - but it's kicked on to the post by Arijanet Muric.

    This game is crazy.

    Republic of Ireland 1-1 Bulgaria

It's a fifth Republic of Ireland debut tonight. Manchester United goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara, on loan at Burton, replaces Mark Travers.

O'Hara spent last season at Macclesfield.

BBC Sport chief football writer at St. Mary's

Kosovo's fans gave their team a huge ovation when they came out for the second half 5-1 down - and what a response they have had.

England's carelessness in defence and Kane's penalty miss means that remarkably they still believe.

    Cracking game.

  7. CLOSE!published at 71 mins

    England 5-3 Kosovo

Trent Alexander-Arnold takes the free-kick, over the wall and just wide. Decent strike.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 70 mins

    England 5-3 Kosovo

Goalkeeper Arijanet Muric was well off his line when he made that penalty save, by the way. One for VAR.

Jadon Sancho is caught late and Fidan Aliti goes into the book.

    Republic of Ireland 1-1 Bulgaria

That was dreadful from Cyrus Christie as he was dispossessed on the edge of the Republic area by Ivan Goronov, with the upshot being a stretched John Egan having to haul down Bozhidar Kraev. A stonewall penalty and Bulgaria substitute and captain Ivelin Popov produced an emphatic spot-kick past Mark Travers. Thankfully the fare has been better in the second half after the tedium of the opening 45 minutes.

What an unexpectedly entertaining evening this has been in Southampton. More goals to come? I reckon so. At either end.

    Republic of Ireland 1-1 Bulgaria

Bulgaria have just equalised against the Republic of Ireland through Ivelin Popov's penalty. John Egan fouled Bozhidar Kraev in the box after some poor Cyrus Christie defending and Popov gave Mark Travers no chance.

We thought Cristiano Ronaldo had a hat-trick. But the second one has actually gone down as an own goal. Ronaldo taps in from Bernardo Silva's cross, and this is his 91st international goal.

Harry Kane is made to wait an age from the spot, and he strikes it pretty well but to the keeper's right and Arijanet Muric majes the save!

That was what you want to see from Ross Barkley, picking the ball up and driving forward.

Much better, you know he has the ability.

However, like the Kosovo penalty, it is harsh.

That's 91 international goals for Cristiano Ronaldo, he's got his second and they lead Lithuania 2-1. That would take them back into second place above Serbia, who lead Luxembourg 2-0.
