    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

If Arsenal do not win their group then they will face either one of the other Europa League group winners or one of the top four teams that have dropped down from the Champions League.

That brings in Ajax, RB Salzburg, Inter Milan and Benfica as potential opponents in the last 32.

Any win for Arsenal avoids that potential eventuality.

Rennes 1-0 Lazio / Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 Vitoria Guimaraes

Joris Gnagnon has put the hosts Rennes ahead in France against Lazio. As it stands that means Cluj are now in line to qualify in Group E behind Celtic.

In the other game in Arsenal's Group F, Eintracht Frankfurt have turned it around. They were 1-0 down against Vitoria Guimaraes, but quick-fire goals from Danny da Costa and Daichi Kamada leave the Germans 2-1 ahead and heading into the last 32.

It means the Gunners need to score otherwise Frankfurt will top the group.

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

The pitch is not in the best of states and Arsenal go long. But it is a brave move from home goalkeeper Amaud Bodart, who sprints out of his penalty area, to head the ball clear, like a towering centre-half, 30 yards from his goal.

Emiliano Martinez, at the other end, causes more heart problems for Arsenal fans with an underhit pass to a colleague, but he just about gets away with it again.

A good game this one though and Arsenal then create another opportunity, but Joe Willock can't keep it down. Goalless, but probably not for long.

  4. CLOSE!published at 32 mins

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

Another chance for Arsenal. It falls to the lively Bukayo Saka, just inside the corner of the penalty area, and he strikes it left footed but just over the top.

The Gunners have been the better side and now had three good chances to open the scoring, but not taken any of them.

Who is going to win the Europa League and why?

Ash: Wolves to win the Europa League. We've beaten Man Utd and Arsenal so why can't we beat the likes of Ajax and Inter Milan?

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 28 mins

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

An excellent run down the left flank from Bukayo Saka causes all sorts of problems for the Belgians.

Once again, only an excellent save with his legs by Amaud Bodart, after Saka's shot from a tight angle, denies the Gunners the first goal of the match.

Rangers v Young Boys (20:00 GMT)

Celtic are already through but it's a lot more stressful for the blue half of Glasgow tonight.

Rangers are top at the moment, but are in a thrilling group when all four sides could still qualify. That one gets going at 20:00 GMT.

    Cluj 0-0 Celtic

Signs the hosts are just moving up into another gear in this one. Abdel Billel Omrani gets away down the left, plays a neat little one-two and then unloads a shot from just inside the Celtic area.

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon, comes to the rescue though, standing up to and parrying the effort to safety.

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

Every time the ball is in the Arsenal defence their fans must be watching through their fingers.

It is horror-show stuff again, this time from goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who dwells on the ball for far too long and just about gets away with it by launching it into touch.

A hand up as an apology to his team-mates and we remain goalless.

    Eintracht Frankfurt 0-1 Vitoria Guimaraes

Just the one goal so far in 12 Europa League matches and it has come in Arsenal's group with Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes 1-0 up against Eintracht Frankfurt with a goal from former Bolton loanee Rochinha.

That could give Standard Liege a boost as they need the Germans to lose and then beat the Gunners to qualify.

    Cluj 0-0 Celtic

A decent start from Celtic in Romania.

Neil Lennon's side are popping the ball about nicely, very much with the look of a side that have won their last 12 games in a row.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 15 mins

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

Better from Arsenal and their best chance so far falls to Emile Smith Rowe. He strikes it well and it is heading for the bottom corner but home goalkeeper Amaud Bodart sticks out a leg and diverts it wide for a corner, which comes to nothing.

  13. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal are giving their fans some nervous moments and, once again it comes from errors from their defenders.

Firstly, David Luiz makes a mess of a header, with Mavropanos blocking the shot, before he himself gives it away with Mehdi Carcela's weak effort straight at Emiliano Martinez.

  14. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

Fair to say Standard Liege do not have the best record against the Gunners.

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

In the end Alexandre Lacazette, left out against West Ham, takes the free-kick and it bounces off the arm of a Liege man on the edge of the wall. That could've easily been a penalty but there's no VAR here and the ref doesn't give it.

The ball ricochets towards Sokratis, but he gets under the ball and his header is harmlessly over the top.

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

A lively run from Emile Smith Rowe comes to an end when he is chopped down by Zinho Vanheusden and the Gunners have a free-kick in a dangerous position, just outside the box. Lacazette and Luiz want it.

  17. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Standard Liege 0-0 Arsenal

A bit naughty from Liege captain Paul-Jose Mpoku, who flings an arm out and catches Matteo Guendouzi, but a ludicrous reaction from the Gunners man, holding his face, trying to get his opponent in trouble.

Our Swedish referee Andreas Ekberg is not having any of it and tells everyone to get on with it

    Standard Liege v Arsenal

Standard Liege, all in red, get us going.

Arsenal, in their all dark blue, beat the Belgians 4-0 at Emirates Stadium, meaning Gunners fans don't need to worry about their qualification unless they find themselves 5-0 down.

  19. Dodgy pitchpublished at 17:48 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2019

Standard Liege v Arsenal (17:55 GMT)

The pitch tonight looks a bit patchy and bare in one or two spots.

And the Daily Telegraph's Sam Dean reckons one or two players have found it hazardous in the warm-up.
