Who's going to win the Europa League and why?

Farris: Inter Milan for the cup, unless Manchester United beat them of course!

    Gareth: Ajax or RB Salzburg.

Mets: Ajax to win the Europa League. Still got a brilliant young team who know how to cause other teams problems in Europe. If they take this competition seriously they should go far, although need to sort out home form. Lost to both Chelsea and Valencia which cost them.

  2. 'Day to day, game to game'published at 17:42 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2019

Standard Liege v Arsenal (17:55 GMT)

This will be the fourth match where Freddie Ljungberg has been in charge for Arsenal, following the sacking of Unai Emery last month.

But yesterday the 42-year-old Swede said he is still not sure how much longer he will be there.

"It's not a conversation I've had with the bosses," Ljungberg said when asked if he believed he was in the running.

"My job is to go from day to day, game to game, to try to help this fantastic club. That's what I try to do. All of those decisions are up to the top dogs.

"What the club decides to do, or who they choose, it is totally up to them but I stay totally out of it."

Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta and Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked by Napoli on Tuesday, have both been strongly linked with role.

Sporting Lisbon and LASK have already qualified and they meet in Austria, with Sporting only needing a draw to top Group D.

    Group EImage source, .
    Image caption,

Celtic can relax in their away game in Romania against Cluj as the Bhoys are guaranteed top spot. Cluj will join them in the last 32 with a point or if Lazio fail to win away at Rennes. If Cluj and Lazio finish on nine points then the Italians will advance because of a better head-to-head record.

    Group FImage source, .
    Image caption,

Arsenal will be through with a win or draw away at Standard Liege, or if Frankfurt lose at home to Vitoria Guimaraes. Frankfurt will be through if they match Liege's result, while the Belgians need Frankfurt to slip up. The top three could end up all on 10 points, but the Gunners will be safe unless they lose by five goals or more.

  4. How they stand - Groups A to Cpublished at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2019

    Group AImage source, .
    Image caption,

No excitement in Group A. Sevilla are the group winners and Apoel Nicosia are the runners up as they have a better head-to-head record over Qarabag if they finish level on points.

    Group BImage source, .
    Image caption,

It's more dramatic in Group B as leaders Copenhagen take on second-placed Malmo. If the Swedes lose then Dynamo Kiev will qualify if they win at home against Lugano.

    Group CImage source, .
    Image caption,

Basel are already through even if the top three end up on 10 points because of a superior record in the three-way head-to-head. They will top the group if they beat Trabzonspor, while Getafe only need a draw at home against Krasnodar to join them, although the Russians will qualify if they win in Spain.
