  10. Scotland's win at Wembley 20 years onpublished at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2019

Paul Ince's cheap shot. Arsene Wenger's goodwill. Kevin Keegan's Braehead confession. One of Scotland's most glorious failures.

It's been two decades since the Euro 2000 play-offs, when the Scots won 1-0 at Wembley to come achingly close to reversing a 2-0 defeat at Hampden in the Euro 2000 play-offs.

As it was, England proceeded to the finals in Belgium and Netherlands, but Craig Brown's side produced one of the biggest results and performances in Scottish football history 20 years ago on Sunday.

To reflect on the that combustible two-legged affair, BBC Scotland spoke to some of those involved in the Scotland camp at the time.

  11. 'Winks did a great job'published at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2019

    Kosovo 0-4 England

More from England boss Gareth Southgate to BBC Sport: "I thought Harry Winks stayed calm on the ball, he took the heat of the game for us and him and Maguire as well from the back meant that we could deal with the pressure which was causing us the problems.

"He played on the right against Spain and he has got this ability to connect back to front. We felt in this game we needed two genuine midfield players to go out and with Oxlade-Chamberlain's athleticism and forward running.

"Kosovo press well and they attack well and you need the ability to counter that. I thought Winks did a great job both on and off the ball."

  12. 'It was a difficult test'published at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2019

    FT: Kosovo 0-4 England

    England

England manager Gareth Southgate speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "I think the level of our performances have been good. It was a difficult test, it was a tough pitch.

"It was an amazing atmosphere to get the welcome we did but we also knew it would be a huge night for Kosovo to try and gain the scalp of England.

"I thought it was just the sort of test we needed. We found out how we were going to play under pressure. We had moments where our defending should have been better.

"Generally I like the fact that we stayed pretty calm with the ball. It was a unique atmosphere. It obviously meant so much for them."
