Wayne Ellis: Been critical of him in the past, but Winks has been comfortably the best player on the pitch.

Winks is not a defensive midfielder! His passing is predominantly forward, unlike Rice who almost always passes back or sideways.

It had all been a bit scrappy until Harry Winks put England ahead but now Gareth Southgate's side should settle down.

The goal was greeted with some polite applause from the home fans and England should now make their greater quality count.

That was Harry Winks' first international goal on his sixth cap.

It was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's first England assist since September 2015 against San Marino.

Kind of a strange goal. It didn't feel like his first touch was *that* good to take so many defenders out of the game.

    Harry Winks

It's a first England goal for Harry Winks.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finds the midfielder on the edge of his box. Winks' first touch takes him past about three Kosovo defenders who barely seem aware he's there and he's able to just pass the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner.

    Kosovo 0-0 England

Harry Kane has only his ninth touch of the game but his shot is blocked in the penalty area.

Fair to say not many of you out there are loving the Harry Winks-Declan Rice combo.

Greg Morter: Fair play to the Kosovo team who are making England look very ordinary.

Nick Clohessy: With Winks and Rice both playing our midfield lack creativity going forwards. We have a great attack but need someone to get the ball to them quickly. Playing 2 defensive midfielders like this stifles the team. Both are far more likely to pass the ball backwards.

End to end. Callum Hudson-Odoi drifts across the pitch and into the box but his shot is saved.

    Kosovo 0-0 England

Kosovo are causing England plenty of problems. Benjamin Kololli runs down the left and cuts inside. Is he caught on the edge of the box by Raheem Sterling? Maybe, but he doesn't go down and the referee gives nothing.

Kosovo are playing high-tempo and it is going to be very hard to keep it up. You can see them slowing and that is when England will start to pick them apart I feel. I think from about 40 minutes, the tables will turn and England will be in control.

We don't seem to be able to transition between defence and midfield at all. We're regularly seeing defenders with no midfielders within 20 yards leaving the only option as either a risky pass or a long ball. Until we can pass through teams it doesn't matter who the front three are against the best teams.

    Bill, Cheshire

Not a good start from Hudson-Odoi, sloppy is possession and lacking in movement.

    Kosovo 0-0 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Kosovo have been the better team. England are dealing with it but Kosovo are playing with a bit of pace, a bit of flair. England are being too slow and trying to slow the game down. It’s not working.

Ben Chilwell lifts a tempting pass down the left wing for Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Chelsea man chases at speed and keeps it in but he's off balance and nobody is in the centre for his cross.

Bob Hawkins: This is poor from England...far too many misplaced easy passes

Every time John Stones doesn't play the passing is so much worse.

Almost a scare as the corner is flicked on by a Kosovo head but England get it away.

Corner to Kosovo now, conceded by Trent Alexander-Arnold.
