    Callum O'Dowda, who has made a real difference since coming on, has taken over corner-taking duties and he puts one into the box for the visitors. It cleared but the Republic of Ireland come forward again as John Egan's shot on the turn is just wide.

    This is the visitors best spell of the game but they really need to capitalise on it.

    Glenn Whelan swings the ball in, the initial delivery is headed away but the ball is pumped back into the box and is inches away from Seamus Coleman's head.

    Decent start to the half though.

    Italy, despite having two shots on goal in the first two minutes, still lead Liechtenstein by just the one goal in Group J.

    Elsewhere in that group Greece are drawing 1-1 with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    In Group G, Israel are 3-1 up against Latvia,while in the other Group D game Georgia lead Gibraltar 2-0.

    All the other games tonight are goalless.
