Wales captain Gareth Bale on BBC Radio Wales: "Every game, we go in to win. Our mindset as players is always about winning, we understand the permutations but we still want to try to top the group.

"We haven't really looked at the table too much, we know if we win all three games we'll probably qualify so that's our mindset really. We want to reach another major tournament.

"It's always a tight game when we play Croatia. We know how good a side they are, the World Cup showed that. The fans will play a major part tonight."

I like the versatility of Ben Davies, he can play in a back three or at left-back or wing-back. He's consistently an eight out of 10. He's so consistent and he's quite aggressive and I like that about him.

Along with Joe Allen, I think you've got to say they're the two most consistent players for Wales in the last few years.

Wales captain Gareth Bale insists Wales can shock World Cup finalists Croatia.

"We've had some great results against big teams at home," he said.

"We believe in ourselves. We feel no matter who we come up against we can come up with a plan to beat them.

"We have great players and a great team, and if we put in a performance we can beat anybody.

"Croatia are the favourites. They are one of the best teams in the world - especially after their World Cup performance.

"But being underdogs doesn't change anything. We will always try and set up to win the game."

That was effectively a dead rubber, with Scotland already thinking about their play-off next March.

Nothing can be decided either way today for Wales.

A win would see them move into a strong position. But even with a defeat, Wales can still qualify, although it would not be in their own hands.

Victories in their final two games - in Azerbaijan and at home to Hungary - would be enough, providing Croatia beat Slovakia on 16 November.

That is because if Wales and Slovakia finish level on 13 points, Wales would finish above them because of their superior head-to-head record.
