Spurs chairman Daniel Levy: "We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the board has taken lightly, nor in haste.

“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.

“It falls to the board to make the difficult decisions - this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff - but we do so in the club's best interests."

Mark Davies: I think we have momentum, we are at home and we are the better team. Everything points to a Wales win. I think the biggest threat to us are ourselves. An early goal would be nice

Wales boss Ryan Giggs: "Aaron Ramsey is fit, that was pleasing and he's raring to go. They [he and Bale] have quality and experience and we've not had them together for a long time.

"It's not just about those two, we will have to play as a team to get victory. We might have to be patient, it might go to the last minute.

"We have been building momentum, we are in good form. Everyone knows this is a big game."

For this to be the first time in the group that Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale have both started, and Wales even being in with a shout for qualification, is some effort.

Add in Joe Allen and that's a very decent trio who can control this game.

  12. 'Wales have big-game players'published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2019

    Tony Pulis
Former Stoke and West Brom manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

What Wales have to do is match Hungary's workrate. Once they get on the front foot I do think Wales will dominate the game. It's a big game and Wales have big-game players in Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Dan James.

My one surprise is I'd have played Ashley Williams. He has been outstanding for Bristol City this year and has shown a desire to be in the squad. I thought Ryan might have played him for that stability and experience.

I'm excited that Wales have got another chance to go to a Euros. Last time it brought everyone together. The whole nation will be holding their breath tonight, hoping and praying that we win.

Interestingly enough in this group, Slovakia can qualify should Wales and Hungary draw.

Hungary boss Marco Rossi has just said that there is 'no way' the game in Cardiff will end in a draw - Hungary and Slovakia aren't the best of mates, apparently...

Sulaimon: In the past 3 years, this Welsh team has gathered experience and that should be pivotal to get a brave victory tonight to secure a spot at the Euro 2020.

  19. 'An enormous occasion'published at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2019

    Wales v Hungary (19:45 GMT)

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

It's been a strange build-up to this match for Wales.

There's no denying the enormity of the occasion. After all, Wales have only ever qualified for two major tournaments.

But whereas qualifying for Euro 2016 was a gradual, consistent process, the chance to secure their place at Euro 2020 has almost snuck up on Ryan Giggs' side.

Gareth Bale admits this has been a "topsy-turvy" campaign but, after three wins, two draws and two defeats, Wales are now a victory over Hungary away from automatic qualification for next summer's European Championship.

These chances don't come around that often in Welsh football.
