    Rangers 0-0 Legia Warsaw (0-0)

For the first time in this second half, Legia threaten. A corner from the near side is scrambled clear, just, before the ball comes back in and is blocked once more. Eventually Allan McGregor gets hold of the ball and Rangers survive.

What a contest we have on our hands now.

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:57 British Summer Time 29 August 2019

    Rangers 0-0 Legia Warsaw (0-0)

Rangers are ramping up the pressure now.

Great work down the right by Tavernier results in the ball dropping for Morelos in the box. The striker can't quite get his shot away quickly enough, though, and a Legia leg comes in to block.

  10. Tavernier fumespublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 29 August 2019

    Rangers 0-0 Legia Warsaw (0-0)

James Tavernier is livid, and quite rightly so. A one-two with Alfredo Morelos results in the Colombian getting clattered, but Tavernier recovers the pass and races into the box. However, the ref is having none of it and pulls the play back with the Rangers captain in a dangerous position.

The free-kick comes to nothing. You have to say, that's a bad decision.

  13. Are we heading for penalties?published at 20:41

HT: Rangers 0-0 Legia Warsaw (0-0)

With the game still in the balance, some will already be fearing the worst... could we be going all the way to penalties?

Steven Gerrard has had his Rangers players practicing penalties this week but concedes it is impossible to recreate the nerve-jangling scenario of a winner-takes-all shoot-out.

"Taking a penalty in front of 22 players and 10 members of staff is not the same as doing it in front of 47,000," said the Ibrox boss. "It's very difficult to replicate that situation but I do think walking up, preparing your technique and having a think about where you're putting the ball, so you're really set in your decision before the penalties come, can be helpful, so that's the reason behind it."

  14. HALF-TIME Rangers 0-0 Legia Warsaw (0-0)published at 45 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Legia Warsaw (0-0)

Legia Warsaw get their first real chance of the game with a bit of luck as forward Luquinhas gets the bounce of the ball and gets away from James Tavernier, before cutting inside Connor Goldson and hitting a shot towards goal. However, Allan McGregor is right behind it.

  18. 'Ajer very doubtful for Ibrox' - Lennonpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 29 August 2019

    FT: AIK 1-4 Celtic (1-6)

More from Celtic boss Neil Lennon and it's mixed news on the injury front for Celtic fans before Sunday's trip to face Rangers at Ibrox.

Defender Kristoffer Ajer limped off in the first half and Lennon said: "He has a groin strain so is very doubtful for Sunday. Odsonne Edouard should be fine, he just came off with a bit of cramp. It's not a hamstring thankfully, he's walking about."

Lennon waxed lyrical on Ryan Christie's performance, saying: "He is just playing brilliantly. There's a lot of talk about other players in the country but he's up there with anybody.

"His performance tonight, on and off the ball, was outstanding. He can be as good as he wants to be because he has the right application, enthusiasm, physique now, but more importantly great quality, skill and vision. He is making us better."

  19. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Legia Warsaw (0-0)

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard predicted this tie would "go down to the wire" and it looks like he was right. It's tense at Ibrox, with both defences standing tall so far.

  20. Lennon hails 'awesome performance'published at 20:15 British Summer Time 29 August 2019

    FT: AIK 1-4 Celtic (1-6)

Thrilled Celtic manager Neil Lennon tells BBC Scotland Sportsound. "It was an awesome performance. Our front four were marvellous, brilliant to watch, brilliant football.

"Scott Brown and Callum McGregor gave us a real good platform in midfield, particularly second half. We defended well and looked assured.

"I said there was goals in us and I'm so happy that's proved to be the case.

"We have a big one on Sunday (a visit to Rangers) but we will enjoy this evening. It's been a difficult couple of weeks after the Cluj result but the lads have bounced back brilliantly."
