"I was really confident when Tom Lapslie stepped up, we had been there before in the last round. We got the run around a bit, we had to defend well but the more we got on the ball the more threat we became."

    Colchester 4-3 Tottenham (Pens)

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

There was very little between the sides, what a result for Colchester United! Let's not forget they have already knocked Palace out this season.

Pochettino made 10 changes but there should have been a gulf between the sides. They ended the game with Son, Alli and Eriksen and didn't create enough.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Everton

Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk: "You are always disappointed not to get the result but there were some very positive things for us tonight.

"The difference was taking the chances. I thought we competed really well and if we could have been more clinical it may have been a different story.

"There were lots of good things and some of those lads haven’t had a lot of minutes - I wanted to have a look at some of them for the first time and I thought we competed so well."

Walsh: Tottenham have won 4 of their last 17 matches in all comps. If Poch isn't under pressure now I don't know if he ever will be.

Paul: Surely the @stokecity, external manager has got be sacked soon. Bottom of league without a single win and now beaten in cup too. He isn't up to the job.

Darren Fordham: Poch got what he deserved. Going with 3 defensive midfielders? What did he think would happen he is not thinking straight at the moment that’s for sure.

Richard: Spurs haven't even waited until the end of the season to go full Spurs. Surely they've learned...you never go full Spurs.

Laurence Mason: Tottenham are a shambles, from champions League finalists to being dumped out of the Carabao cup by Colchester. Tottenham look disjointed and poor.
