    Colchester 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham are in the middle of a run of seven games in 21 days. You'd be tempted to say they look a bit sluggish in their attacking play but they can’t really use tiredness as an excuse, given only keeper Paulo Gazzaniga of this starting XI featured from the outset in their 2-1 defeat at Leicester at the weekend.

Half an hour to play and bar the odd scare the hosts are fairly comfortable.

Eric Garcia may never have a better chance to score a goal for Manchester City. David Silva crosses for his fellow Spaniard, who is totally free at the back post.

Everyone waits for the net to bulge but he puts it wide.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Everton

Chance for Sheffield Wednesday but Sam Winnall shoots over the top from just outside the penalty area after good work from Massimo Luongo to create the chance.

  4. CLOSE!published at 21:01 British Summer Time 24 September 2019

    Preston 0-3 Manchester City

More intricate play sees City pick Preston asunder, it's knocked across goal but Eric Garcia can't divert it home!

    Portsmouth 0-2 Southampton

A corner from the right is glanced on by Portsmouth defender Christian Burgess but no team-mate can get a touch that would've been a goal back.

Pompey dominated the opening 20 minutes in the opening half before they fell behind and they've started brightly in the second as well.

  6. CLOSE!published at 20:59 British Summer Time 24 September 2019

    Watford 1-1 Swansea

How has that stayed out? Swansea so close to going ahead as Yan Dhanda loops a header across goal but it's flicked away off the line.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:59 British Summer Time 24 September 2019

    Colchester 0-0 Tottenham

That's as close as Tottenham have come to breaking the deadlock.

Kyle Walker-Peters drills a ball across goal from the right and it smacks the post with keeper Dean Gerken flat-footed. Colchester hack it away for a corner, which they deal with comfortably enough.

    Preston 0-3 Man City

    Emlyn Begley
    BBC Sport at Deepdale

It's more of the same at Deepdale. City are well on top. I don't think they'll reach Watford figures but there are more goals in this game.

Preston's Josh Harrop deservedly goes into the book for a reckless challenge on Joao Cancelo.

    Portsmouth 0-2 Southampton

This one is not over yet. The Portsmouth fans are making a right racket at Fratton Park and Ronan Curtis, at the back post, controls it on the chest and sends in a volley across goal, but Maya Yoshida is well placed to hack it clear.

    Arsenal 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Pranav M: Martinelli is a fantastic talent. Fearless and has quick feet. His desire to win is something not all the players in the squad have.

  12. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 24 September 2019

    Crawley 1-1 Stoke

A slack header allows Ollie Palmer a clear run for Crawley, he has no pace and is eaten up, but as the defender gets level with the big man he goes to ground.

    Penalty?!

    Nothing given.

  13. CLOSE!published at 20:52 British Summer Time 24 September 2019

    Preston 0-3 Manchester City

Angelino has put in some devilish balls from left-back for Manchester City tonight and another beauty is nodded over the top by Gabriel Jesus. Should have been four...

    Colchester 0-0 Tottenham

Positive from Colchester, who force a corner after probing play from Frank Nouble soon after the restart.

They then survive after Tottenham sweep down the other end at pace, but it comes at a cost. Right-back Ryan Jackson is down and he's going to be replaced - Paris Cowan-Hall on to replace him.

A header from 18-year-old Gabriel Martinelli is the difference at the break at the Emirates.

That is game over for Arsenal's Emile Smith-Rowe, who is carried off on a stretcher after that accidental collision with Jack Robinson.

On comes 18-year-old forward Bukayo Saka, who netted in the Gunners' 3-0 Europa League win away at Eintracht Frankfurt last Thursday.
