There has been uncertainly over Javier Hernandez's Hammers future for much of the summer.

Initially it was felt the Mexican was certain to leave, then there appeared to be a change of heart.

However, a decent start to the season for Manuel Pellegrini's side, coupled with the knowledge Hernandez had less than a year remaining on his West Ham contract, has convinced the club to agree to the player's request to leave.

West Ham signed Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen for £16m in 2017.

The former Manchester United man made 55 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, scoring 16 goals, including one, against Brighton, this season.

Last week Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama looked set to join Club Bruges after the two clubs agreed a deal, but now it looks like the deal is OFF.

Part of that is down to the Belgian club deciding they prefer FC Basel's Colombian defender Eder Balanta instead.

Ryan Flint: Half of the PL are off to Italian clubs. We ought to be careful, they might be UCL challengers sooner than not. On another note, I can’t believe how much negative coverage Hazard has received since his Real move. Seeing as he was easily the best in the PL!

  15. Making sense of The Best Awardspublished at 10:44 British Summer Time 2 September 2019

Around this time last year I wrote a piece on Fifa's The Best Awards.

And just how no one seemed to be able to make sense of them.

I mean, Idris Elba presented the ceremony wearing a weird waistcoat for a start. The there was Mo Salah winning bets goal, when even his own team-mate James Milner said it was only the 'seventh best'.

Here's my take on the 2018 awards.

  20. Icardi to sign Inter contract, but still move to PSGpublished at 10:28 British Summer Time 2 September 2019

    Confused? Don't be.

The Argentinian striker is set to sign a contract extension at Inter Milan, but will also move to Paris St-Germain on loan for the season.

Mauro Icardi has been the subject of interest for Juventus and Roma, but is understood to have opted for a move to French champions PSG.

Does this pave the way for Neymar to leave Paris for Barcelona?
