    Fulham 0-1 Charlton

Hmm, that would have caused some controversy if it had gone in.

Harry Arter is flat on his face in the centre-circle, but Charlton carry on playing.

The cross comes in and Josh Cullen heads over. They were perfectly in their rights to do so, as it wasn't a head injury. But it's always a bit of a grey area.

    Arter is okay to continue.

    Fulham 0-1 Charlton

Conor Gallagher is another mightily impressive youngster on the books of Chelsea.

And it's his strike which has made the difference today. Such a composed finish from the 19-year-old.

    No more than they've deserved!

It's a wonderfully worked goal. Jake Forster-Caskey sends over a cross from the left, Mahmadou-Naby Sarr heads back across goal and Conor Gallagher finishes first time.

It's the 19-year-old's fourth goal of the season.

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

This is Fulham's best spell of the first half.

Aleksandar Mitrovic collects a wonderful crossfield pass, pings in a cross, but it's just over the head of Stefan Johansen.

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

Finally Fulham create a bit of space in a good area, but it's wasted by Stefan Johansen.

The midfielder picks up the ball on the edge of the box and his tame effort is easily saved by Dillon Phillips.

Moments later Aleksandar Mitrovic heads over for the hosts.

    Another chance for Charlton!

The visitors suddenly find themselves three on two, Josh Cullen works it wide to Jonny Williams in space, but the Welshman's effort is palmed out by Marcus Bettinelli.

It was a good save, but Williams didn't find the corner.

It's all gone a bit scrappy at Craven Cottage.

Lots of niggly fouls, wayward passes, frustrated arms waving about.

    Goal please.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 30 mins

But now Charlton's physicality is punished.

Conor Gallagher goes in late on Joe Bryan, clips him from behind, and is booked.

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

    Sore.

Jonny Williams slides in on Fulham skipper Tom Cairney, wins the ball, but takes a chunk of Cairney with him.

Cairney manages to shake it off, but that's just one example of Charlton's commitment. Excellent so far.

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

    Conor Gallagher for Charlton... wide.

The teenager tries to bend one into the far corner with his left foot but gets it all wrong and the ball trickles off target.

More danger signs for Fulham though.

It's been a frustrating first 25 minutes for the hosts.

They've had plenty of possession but haven't been able to break Charlton down.

They need a bit of inspiration from somewhere. The visitors have had the better of the chances.

  12. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

    Chance!

Josh Cullen bends in a beautiful free-kick behind the Fulham defence and Darren Pratley connects.

But his header is straight at Marcus Bettinelli. The visitors should be in front.

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

Blimey, Charlton almost get a huge slice of fortune.

Jake Forster-Caskey whips in a cross from the left and the ball drops just past Marcus Bettinelli's left-hand post.

The Fulham keeper was scrambling. No harm done though.

Joe Bryan has got a fierce shot on him, but not this time.

The former Bristol City man picks up the ball 25 yards from goal but fires a low effort wide.

That's Fulham's first attempt at goal.

  15. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

Ivan Cavaleiro is looking Fulham's main threat down the left.

The Wolves loanee pings in a couple of crosses, but they're both cleared. Charlton will put their bodies on the line all day long.

It's real tit-for-tat stuff out there at the moment.

Fulham look good on the ball, as expected, but they're not being allowed any time to play it into attacking areas.

  17. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

Charlton are pressing really well in the opening stages. They're not giving Fulham any time on the ball.

Exactly what you'd expect from a side marshalled by Lee Bowyer.

  18. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

Charlton win a free-kick about 35 yards from goal and Jake Foster-Caskey decides to have a go.

It's blocked, comes back to Forster-Caskey who then balloons it into the arms of the Fulham goalkeeper.

Addicks boss Lee Bowyer is not impressed.

Harry Arter and Jonny WilliamsImage source, Rex Features

We might see a lot of this today.

Jonny Williams picks the ball up in midfield for Charlton and is bundled over by Harry Arter.

Likes to get stuck in does Harry.

  20. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Charlton

Charlton win an early corner, but they play it short and it's wasted. The ball eventually has to go back to the Charlton goalkeeper Dillon Phillips.

    Silly.
