Manchester United's players flew to this game!, external It's a two-and-a-half-hour drive. FLEW!

Went to an airport. Got on a flight. The plane had to take off, fly for a few minutes presumably, then land. They all had to get off the plane and then out of the airport.

Instead of just getting a bus.

Ben Griffin: Pereira and Young wouldn't be getting into this Newcastle team, let alone be getting into this Man Utd team.

Steve Rossiter: Genuinely in relegation trouble. Closer to the Championship than top four. Woodward and the Glazers are a total disgrace starting the season with this lot and OGS is not a good enough manager for it either.

Lewis Paul: Pretty sure Ole is trying to get the sack or the players are trying to get Ole sacked, absolutely woeful football and a disgrace to the name on the badge.

Newcastle have been the more dynamic team by a distance. They look much more comfortable playing a 5-4-1 when they don't have the ball. Much more impressed with Willems and Saint-Maximin than I was earlier this season.

Man Utd have a problem, they are too deliberate and very, very slow. They look devoid of ideas, which is a very strange thing to say about Man Utd.

Rangers have gone top of the table in Scotland - Jermain Defoe scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Hamilton.

I'm going to lift my jaw from the floor here. I cannot believe he has managed to miss that one. Maguire just needs to stick any part of his head on it with any sort of conviction and that's a goal.

Harry Maguire should score. From the corner the £75m defender gets free of his marker and heads wide. Literally four yards out. The net should have bustled.

Fabian Schar likes a goal - and he almost puts one into his own net. Diogo Dalot's dangerous cross is headed over his own bar by the Swiss.

Corner for United (Newcastle) but Sean Longstaff crosses it straight out of play.

Mark, Macclesfield: Fred should be playing in the Rugby World Cup. Never seen him pass a ball forward.

Matthew, Northampton: What is the point of Fred?

Manchester United have their first effort on target in almost a game and a half. Andreas Pereira's long-range strike is easily saved by Martin Dubravka.

  16. 'Newcastle have been slightly more dangerous'published at 17:10 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The systems have not changed since the start of the game. Newcastle just want to play at pace on the break and get players forward. Manchester United want to hold the ball and really don't look like they are going to break through that often.

I think Newcastle have been slightly the more dangerous side.

Miguel Almiron has a big chance for a first Newcastle goal but he takes too long. One of the Longstaff brothers picks him out with a ball over the top. Almiron could just get a shot away but he takes too long and Harry Maguire is able to block his effort when it finally comes.
