I'm usually the first person to complain about people doing that. I think the lack of stimulation I'm getting from this game has dulled my brain.

Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd

They had a VAR check just to make sure Scott McTominay shouldn't have been sent off, and it remains a yellow.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay goes into the book for a late, high tackle on Sean Longstaff.

Another chance, another Longstaff involved. Sean's corner finds Fabian Schar, who glances a header over the crossbar. Poor defending by United to let Schar get an effort in.

It's almost a goal from Matthew Longstaff on his Premier League debut. Allan Saint-Maximin picks out the 19-year-old Newcastle midfielder, who takes a touch and hits a beauty on the bounce which cannons off the crossbar. So close.

Now Ashley Young's corner is caught by Martin Dubravka.

Andrew, Manchester: This surface is most definitely not skiddy. Looks like the grass hasn't been cut in a month and the ball is rolling slow and short. Sneaky ploy to nullify the pace of James and Rashford.

I haven't seen much of Newcastle's Allan Saint-Maximin before but he's been very good so far. More good play on the left but his cross is headed away by Axel Tuanzebe.

It's some great interplay because Juan Mata and Scott McTominay. Mata was offside when he got the ball - and McTominay shot wide anyway. That was promising at least.

Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin hacks down Scott McTominay and gets a deserved booking.

Newcastle are actually doing well so far. DeAndre Yedlin goes on a charging run forward and Daniel James brings him down.

You can tell from Mike Dean's demeanour that James will be booked next time he fouls someone.
