  1. 'Heart-breaking'published at 17:24 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    FT: Aston Villa 2-1 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton goalscorer Adam Webster speaking to BBC Sport: "We’re absolutely gutted. We played a lot of the game with 10 men and played really well so it’s heart-breaking for us to concede so late. We were on top with 11 men and missed good chances.

"We need to be clinical in both boxes. When we get the chances we have to take them and then we should not give too many away at the other end.

"Obviously, it’s nice to get off the mark with a goal but it means nothing."

  2. 'Scratching my head'published at 17:23 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    FT: Aston Villa 2-1 Brighton

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith speaking to BBC Sport: "It’s nice to get late goals because it wasn’t a top performance. It's great for us to get back-to-back wins for the first time in a long time. We played a good team today who played through us too easily.

On disallowed Conor Hourihane goal: I’m lost and scratching my head with the whole system. They're making subjective decisions from Stockley Park but that's never been a foul because Wesley jumped up before the goalkeeper. It took forever as well. I don’t think it’s running well from my experience so far.

On impact of Jack Grealish: He's got great feet, he bamboozles people and looked a real threat for us today. I’m really pleased with his performance.

  4. 'We made mistakes'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    Wolves 1-1 Southampton

    Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo for BBC Match of the Day: "It was a very tough game. It was very disputed and there was a lot of fight in the midfield. They were very well organised. The game was hard, we made mistakes. We know that there are things we could have done better. I am disappointed because we must be solid and today we were not solid."

On VAR: "It is what it is. I hope it gets better."

On Ryan Bennett: I hope it is nothing serious, we will have to see. That injury disrupted our tempo a little bit. We started to rush the game a little. I think we dominated but not in the way that we should have.

  6. 'We need to be more clinical'published at 17:17 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    Tottenham 1-1 Watford

    Watford

Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure speaking to Match of the Day: "We are very disappointed at the end of the game. If you don't score the second one you are always under pressure to not concede.

"The performance is very good. We have to take a lot of positives. We had a lot of chances against a top six team. You know you can always concede one goal so we need to move on from this.

"We need to be more clinical in the last part of the pitch, especially when you go away to a top team but we are happy with a point.

"I didn't see it but a lot say it was clearly handball. The VAR checked that and it was good so we have to take that now.

"In the next week we can be better. We work with the manager and understand his tactics. Hopefully next week can be better again."

  7. 'I think I can score more'published at 17:14 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    Wolves 1-1 Southampton

    Southampton

Southampton Danny Ings: "It was a really tough game, we knew that before we came. We knew we had to dig deep. In the second half we came out really strong. They got the equaliser and I thought we did really well to hold on to a point. If you look at the game it is a positive point."

On scoring five goals in four games: "I think I can score more. I had another chance in the game that I think I should have done better with but I just need to keep getting goals and help the team as much as I can to get points. If I do that then that's what is important. We are showing signs at the minute of lots of energy. We just need to build and improve.

  8. Postpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    Leicester 2-1 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche speaking to Sky Sports on Chris Woods' disallowed equaliser: "I'm a big fan of VAR but it has to be used more wisely than that. Their defender is never going to get that in a million years. There was a touch, but there is no intention in the touch and his gait doesn't change. If you're tripping someone you change your gait to trip them, trust me.

"I think it will improve but we must know more about the game and body language. The point is today that is really clear for me. He should at least say he was going to have a look at it.

"I am a big fan of it and it needs to be in the game, but you can't make decisions like that. It cost us a point today."

  10. 'Southampton made it hard'published at 17:04 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    FT: Wolves 1-1 Southampton

    Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves goalscorer Raul Jimenez: "It’s always disappointing when you don’t get the win you think you deserve. We knew what we needed to do but sometimes football is like that. They had only one opportunity to score and they did. After they got their goal it was hard for us but we got there in the end. It’s always special score, especially after seven games without a goal."

On the new rules this season: "We have to adapt the new rules, I got a yellow card when I did not intend to handball it but that is the new rules and we have to get used to that."

  12. 'We weren't sure why'published at 17:02 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    Tottenham 1-1 Watford

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli: "Of course it's a relief. There were two times he [the referee] stopped it when he was making the decisions. We weren't sure why.

"I was sure it didn't hit my hand but then you start thinking did it? I tried to make sure it didn't touch it so I could get the strike away.

"We made it difficult for ourselves. We controlled the game and bossed possession. It was my first start and great to be back in the team but overall a disappointing result.

"We know we have a world-class team so it's about showing what we can do when things don't go our way. It's important we turn it around. We know how good we are, we just have to start showing it on the pitch."

  13. '90% sure VAR would disallow'published at 17:01 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    Leicester 2-1 Burnley

    Leicester City

Leicester City defender Jonny Evans: "We didn't play as well as we can and we couldn't get into our rhythm as much as we would have liked. But luckily Youri [Tielemans] got us our goal."

On Burnley's disallowed equaliser: "He tripped me. I think you can see that. I thought it would be disallowed, I protested straight way. He clipped my heel.

"At the time I was 90% sure VAR would overturn it."

On the tributes paid to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha: "It was amazing. Being here last year and the emotion of it - it was great the way they honoured him. His legacy will live on at this club. The club will always respect and honour him."

    Matt Targett

    Would you believe it!!!

Villa have been knocking on the door for ages and Brighton have clung on and on and on.

Jack Grealish is involved as he squeezes it into the path of Matt Targett, who absolutely smashes it into the far corner from a tight angle on the left.

Villa are ecstatic, Brighton absolutely distraught.
